HOBBS JEROMY WADE MCMILLEN Billy “Bebop” Banister, 53, Shepherdsville, Ky., died Jan. 25, 2015 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center, Louisville, Ky. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Jane Banister and a brother, George Banister. He is survived by his best friend, Melissa Via, Shepherdsville, Ky.; three children, William Todd Via, Steven R. Oval R. Hobbs, 92, Guston, Ky., died Jan. 22, 2015 at Brandenburg Nursing and Rehab in Brandenburg, Ky. He was born Aug. 13, 1922 to the late Seth and Rosa B. Simmons Hobbs. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Earl Poole Hobbs; and four sisters. He was a World War II Army Veteran receiving the American Campaign Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, the Purple Heart, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the Guston Baptist Church, and served for 39 years civil service as a boiler engineer. Funeral services were held on Jan. 25 at Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington. LENA HELEN POWERS CONDOR Lena Helen Powers Condor, 92, Brandenburg, Ky., died Jan. 26, 2015. She was born in Breckinridge County, Ky. to the late Jess C. Powers and Beulah Bell Curry Powers. She is survived by her son, Richard Lee Condor; sister, Virginia Mayne; nieces; nephews; and her beloved cat Tammy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hobart Lee Condor. She was a homemaker who loved to sew and quilt. She worked at the old Kellers Manufacturing Company in Corydon, Ind. and was a member of Payneville Baptist Church. PAT RANDOLPH COURSEY Pat Randolph Coursey, 89, Brandenburg, Ky., died Jan. 21, 2015 at Signature Health Care of Elizabethtown, Elizabethtown, Ky. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Lucy Coursey; and two grandchildren, Meredith and Ryan Coursey. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Wilma Coursey; a son, Bruce F. (Elsie) Coursey, Panama City, Fla.; a daughter, Darice (Donald) Spink, Brandenburg, Ky.; and a grandchild, Derek (Brittani’) Spink. He retired from the military serving in World War II and Korean War after 22 years of service and worked for the engineers at Fort Knox for 13 years. He was a member of Vine Grove Masonic Lodge #603. MEGAN LORRAINE HAYNES Megan Lorraine Haynes, 20, Guston, Ky., died Jan. 26, 2015, at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville, Ky., after fighting a courageous battle with leukemia. She is survived by her parents, Tommy (Heidi) Powell Haynes, Guston; her brother, Tyler Houston Haynes, Guston; her great grandmother, Betty Bishoff; her paternal grandparents, Houston “Doodle” (Joyce) Haynes, Guston; her maternal grandparents, Larry (Pamela) Powell, Brandenburg, Ky.; an aunt, Tara (Kelly) Benham, Brandenburg; an uncle, Allen Haynes, Guston; her cousins, Sydney, Austin, and Madison Haynes, Guston and Levi, Madie and Brody Benham, Brandenburg; her God chosen sister and special friend, Erica Dowell; and a community of other special friends. She was a social butterfly, who thoroughly enjoyed the river, boating, camping and spending whatever quality time she could with friends and family. She grew up at Salem Baptist church and spent her teen years with Barrett Howard and the youth group at Brandenburg United Methodist Church. She was a 2012 graduate of Meade County High school and was currently a nursing major at the University of Louisville. A celebration of Megan’s life will be held Jan. 31 at 1 p.m. at the gymnasium of Stuart Pepper Middle School, with Rev. Dina Hackert and Barrett Howard officiating. Doors to the gymnasium will open at 12:30 p.m. for the service. Burial, with family and friends, will follow at the Salem Cemetery.
