Do not place any naked flame sources such as lit candles on or near the speaker. Standard Accessories Bluetooth Speaker 3.5mm Audio Cable MicroUSB Charging Cable Product Layout 1. Power ON/OFF 2. Micro USB port for connecting to DC 5V USB cables to charge the Bluetooth speaker. Please take note that a power adapter is not a standard accessory to this speaker. You can use your mobile phone adaptor to charge the speaker or connect to the USB port of your PC or power bank to charge the speaker. The voltage is limited to 5V. 3. Once plugged in, the Bluetooth speaker will disconnect from any connected Bluetooth devices automatically. Volume Down – In Bluetooth mode and Aux in mode, hold down to decrease volume. Volume Up – In Bluetooth mode and Aux in mode, hold down to increase volume. Bluetooth disconnect button and Answer/Reject Call/Play/Pause button. In Bluetooth mode, press and hold for 3 seconds to disconnect the Bluetooth. In Bluetooth mode, if there is an incoming call, press quickly to answer the call, or hold down for 3 seconds to reject the call. When playing music, pressing this button will pause and resume music. LED indicator. NFC area. Tap here to power on/pair your Bluetooth speaker. Enhanced Mode: Press the volume up and volume down button simultaneously to enter into enhanced mode while playing music. Press the two buttons simultaneously to resume default mode. Red light flashing means your speaker needs to be charged. Red charging indicator lit Red light on means the battery is being charged. Once the battery is fully charged, this red indicator light will go out. Operation Connecting the Bluetooth Speakers to a Bluetooth device 1. Be sure the speaker battery has enough power. 2. Turn on the speaker. It will automatically go into Bluetooth mode, ready for connecting. The blue indicator will flash. 3. Open the Bluetooth menu on your device, then search for “U910” and connect to it. You won't normally need to input the password for most devices, however depending on the Bluetooth version, you may need to put in the password “0000” to connect. 4. Blue light remaining on steadily means the units are successfully paired. 5. Run the music player on your mobile device and enjoy the loud and clear sound from your Kogan.com Bluetooth speakers. Connecting to a Notebook PC via Bluetooth If your notebook doesn't have native Bluetooth functionality, please buy a Bluetooth adaptor. Install the Bluetooth adaptor and follow the instructions for your device to get the adaptor working. 1. Start the Notebook, then search for the Bluetooth device by “Start → Setting → Control Panel” 2. Start the Bluetooth searching function of your notebook. The blue light will flash when searching for audio-in devices. 3. The Blue indicator will remain on once you are connected successfully. 4. You can then play the audio from your Notebook via the Bluetooth speakers. 3 Answer/Reject incoming call 1. Quickly press the play/pause button to answer the call, then press it again to hang up after answering. 2. Press and hold the play/pause button for 3 seconds to reject the call. Playing music via AUX-in The Kogan Bluetooth speaker comes with a standard 3.5mm Aux in jack for connecting with other non-Bluetooth audio devices (e.g. mobile phones, MP3 players, tablets etc...) 1. Plug one end of the audio cable into the AUX in jack of the speaker, then plug the other end into the audio source AUX jack. The green indicator will then remain on steadily. 2. Your speaker will disconnect the Bluetooth connection and will automatically switch to external source play. Enhanced mode Enhanced mode is designed for a premium level of sound intensity and bass. 1. Make sure the speaker is on and working properly. 2. Press the volume up and volume down buttons simultaneously to enter into enhanced mode. The blue indicator will flash to indicate successful operation. 3. Press the two buttons simultaneously to resume default mode. NFC power on/pairing Make sure your mobile phone has NFC functionality. 1. Start the NFC from the settings of your phone. 2. Tap your mobile phone on the NFC area of the speaker. The speaker will power on automatically and the indicator will flash. 3. Five seconds later, tap your mobile phone to the NFC area again to activate NFC pairing. When your mobile phone asks “Pairing with Bluetooth?”, select 'Yes'. 4. Your mobile phone will now be connected and you can play wireless music. 5. Tap your mobile phone to the NFC area again to disconnect the Bluetooth. Pairing your speaker with two playback devices Your speaker can support two playback devices at the same time. 1. Follow step one of how to pair your Bluetooth device (to be known as playback device 1) to the speaker. 2. Press and hold the play/pause button for two seconds to disconnect the Bluetooth connection. The speaker will memorize the mac address playback device 1. 3. Follow step one of how to pair your Bluetooth device (to be known as playback device 2) to your speaker. 4. Then pair playback device 1 again. You can now play music via two playback devices. Please note: only one device can play audio at a time. You cannot send music from both devices to the speaker at once. You will need to pause one player if you want to play music from the other. Notes Your speaker will power off automatically within 15 minutes if you do not pair any devices with it to save power. You will need to power the speaker on again to use it. If your speaker has paired with over 8 devices, there will be 2 or more seconds delay for scanning and pairing with new playback devices. This is due to your speaker needing to scan the previously paired devices first to repair with them automatically. Simply hold the previous track and next track buttons down together for 3 seconds to clean all of the devices stored in memory and resume default settings. 4 Troubleshooting Problem Solution Speaker will not turn on. • Make sure the battery has sufficient power. Paired Bluetooth device will not connect • If your device requires a passcode, make sure to input '0000' Turn the Bluetooth speaker off and on again. Remove the speaker from the pairing list on your Bluetooth device, then pair the device and the speaker again. • • Speaker indicates a connection but will not play music • • Cannot pair the Bluetooth speakers with my Bluetooth enabled device • • • • No audio from a Bluetooth device • • • • Poor sound quality from a Bluetooth device • • • • • No audio from AUX source • • • • Poor sound quality from AUX source • • • 5 Turn off or disable Bluetooth on all other paired devices nearby, then reconnect the device you want to play from. Turn the Bluetooth speaker off and on again. Make sure your Bluetooth speakers are discoverable. Your Bluetooth device may be out of range. Try to move it closer to your Bluetooth speakers. Make sure your Bluetooth device supports the transfer of audio. Reset your Bluetooth speaker. Make sure your Bluetooth speakers are not muted and the volume is up. Make sure your Bluetooth device is playing music and has the volume up. Your Bluetooth device might be out of range. Turn the Bluetooth speakers off and on again. Your Bluetooth device might be out of range. Move the Bluetooth speakers and device away from any devices that generate electromagnetic interference such as another Bluetooth device, cordless phone, microwave oven or a wireless router. Try turning off Wi-Fi to improve audio quality. Make sure the music file itself isn't poor quality. Turn the Bluetooth speaker off and on again. Make sure your connected device is on and playing. Make sure your speaker is in AUX-in mode. Make sure the audio cable is correctly inserted. Increase the volume level on the device and speaker. Reduce the volume level on the AUX source. Make sure the 3.5mm audio cable is fully inserted into both the speaker and the device. Make sure your audio source and music file is not of poor quality.
