INTRODUCTION
Under the Auspices of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and Endorsed by the Department of Petroleum Resources, Nigeria, the 19th
annual edition of Offshore West Africa took place at The Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria on 20‐22 January 2015, reaching a record a endance figure of more than 2,300 delegates and visitors from more than 30 countries worldwide, with just under ⅓ being of Senior Management (CEO, CFO, President, Vice President, Director) level. As the premier technical forum for the oil & gas industry within West Africa, the 2015 event reached new heights, becoming the most successful event in its previous 18 year history. Supported by Diamond Sponsors, Total, as well as Gold Sponsors, Addax Petroleum and SNEPCo., Offshore West Africa continued to boast a world‐class conference program, emphasized by the Opening Plenary, Keynote Session and Local Content Panel Discussion line‐ups and presentations. In addition to this, a burgeoning Exhibition Floor full of both local and international organizations, took place with exhibitors promoting their services, equipment, technologies and innovations over 3 days, providing great networking, knowledge sharing and sales opportunities to all those present. The conference and exhibition once again provided the tools and resources to offshore upstream industry professionals that are seeking new business opportunities in the West Africa region, and for the first time brought together both seasoned industry experts with young professionals as part of the Youth Empowerment Programme, whilst also launching the Offshore West Africa CPD Conference supported by the Energy Institute. Both of these initiatives were assisted by Lonadek and the Energy Institute as part of PennWell’s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility plans.

OFFSHORE WEST AFRICA 2015 CONFERENCE
The event began with the Opening Plenary Session to over 390 people, including a Welcome & Introduction by Mr. David Paganie, Chief Editor, Offshore Magazine, PennWell Corporation; Chairman's Remarks from Mr. George Oguachuba, General Manager, Corporate Nig. Content, Venture Management & Corporate Geosciences, TOTAL Exploration & Production Nigeria; an International Operator Address by Mrs. Elisabeth Proust, Managing Director/Chief Executive, TOTAL Upstream Nigeria; an Industry Outlook from Ms. Rolake Akinkugbe, VP & Head, Energy and Natural Resources, FBN Capital. These were followed by a Goodwill Speech from Dr. Ernest Nwapa (D. MT, FNSE), Executive Sectretary, Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board; and a Keynote Address from Engr. Jonathan Kwame Okehs, Group General Manager, NAPIMS, on behalf of Dr. Joseph T. Dawha, GMD, NNPC and the Ministry of Petroleum.
On 21 January, a Keynote Address took place with Mr Wole Akinyosoye, Assistant Director ‐ Planning, on behalf of Mr. George Osahon, Director, Department of Petroleum Resources, Nigeria speaking on the Emergence of Indigenous Independents. On the morning of 22 January, the ever popular Local Content Panel Discussion took place with a full room of 150 delegates. Moderated by Mr. Nosa Omorodion, General Manager, National Content ‐ West Africa, Schlumberger, the panelists included Engr. Paul Zuhumben, General Manager, Projects and Operations on behalf of Dr. Ernest Nwapa (D. MT, FNSE), Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board; Mr. Dapo Oshinusi, Executive, PETAN; Mr. Nedo Osayande, General Manager, Shell Petroleum Development Company; Ms. Blessing Akintayo, Business Development Executive, Richardson Oil and Gas Ltd.; and Mrs. Enife Atobiloye, Lead Consultant, Human Leadership Resources.
For the first time, Offshore West Africa included a continuous professional development (CPD) program, supported by the Energy Institute and assisted by Lonadek. This Initiative is part of PennWell Corporation’s and Offshore West Africa‘s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy to help with the West African region’s objective of developing a fully sustainable sector. As part of the collaboration between Offshore West Africa and the Energy Institute, the inaugrual Youth Programme was held on 22nd January, attended by more than 125 students and young professionals who were able to attend the exhibition floor and listen to presentations from companies such as Total and Chevron as part of an Empowerment Workshop.
