This guide covers the current software offerings in Information Technology labs on campus.
SOFTWARE TITLE AVAILABILITY
All Windows-based lab computers are loaded with a base configuration of Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010. All
Macintosh computers are loaded with a base image of Macintosh OS X 10.6 and Microsoft Office Mac 2008.
Most lab computers have additional software installed on the computer based on the computers location, software license
availability, and faculty teaching requests. Individual software title availability is listed below.

Note that all software is not available in all labs. The software listed on this page is accurate to the best of our knowledge at the time
of printing. However, software changes are inevitable and recent changes may not be reflected on this page. Please verify the
software in the lab prior to scheduling. Also note that this software list reflects the current semester only, and that software version,
availability, location and licensing changes frequently and often from semester to semester.

Research Insight checks for a license and will sometimes ask to update: click Yes if prompted.
SITE LICENSES
In addition to the standard software installed on every campus computers, many of our labs have specialized software installed by
request for certain departments and classes. The availability of these software programs are dependent upon the type of license
purchased by the University or Department requesting the software, and may not be available in all labs.
Software programs on our base lab software configuration have been purchased with a University or unlimited license, and can be
installed by request on any SU-owned faculty or staff computer, including:

Textpad (www.textpad.com) and GeoGebra (www.geogebra.org) can be downloaded for free from their websites.

FACULTY INSTALLATIONS OF SPSS
The Windows version of SPSS is available for Faculty to install on any network connected, SU-owned computer through the
Application Catalog (Start>All Programs>Application Catalog). To install, simply select SPSS and choose Install. If you need assistance
in installing on an SU computer, or if you need SPSS for the Mac, please contact the IT Help Desk at 410-677-5454.
SPSS licenses renew each year at the beginning of the Fall semester. If you have just installed SPSS, or are using a version from a
previous semester, and need a new license code or a license code update, please call the IT Help Desk at 410-677-5454 for a new
code. You can then enter or update the license by running the SPSS License Activator (Start>All Programs>IBM SPSS>IBM SPSS
License Activator).
