All members of 8 RAR Association

day in the calendar of "The Grey
Eight" to remember not only those 11
from our battalion who died during
Operation Hammersley but
all who lost their lives with the
battalion during our tour of duty in
both Malaysia and Vietnam.

Infantry Luncheon.
Purpose: To eat good food, drink
good wine, talk old soldiers' talk and
walk away feeling pleased.
Required: Infantrymen, Any
nationality, Any army, with service as
an infantryman whilst on the nominal
roll of an infantry battalion; war
service is NOT essential.
When:
1st. Thursday of every
month (but never January).
Where:
The Royal Automobile
Club of Australia; 89 Macquarie
Street, Sydney.
Time:
1200 for 1230.
Dress:
At the least, a collared
shirt and shoes.

My name is Danielle Smits & I
have been trying to find men who
served with my Dad, 54497 Daniel
Smits. He died when I was yrs. old
& I would love to talk to people
who knew him & can tell me a
little about him. He was in 3RAR
company support in Vietnam
between 20/12/67 to 28/11/68 he
stayed in the army until his death
on 21/12/76. I live in Queensland
now also any photos would be
appreciated as well. Thank you so
