About the University
The Veer Surendra Sai University
of Technology (VSSUT) Odisha
was formed by Orissa Act 9 of
2009 by converting University
College of Engineering (UCE),
Burla to a non-affiliating Unitary
University and came into force
from 1st day of July 2009.
Established on 12th Aug. 1956, at
Burla in the name of University
College of Engineering (UCE),
the first engineering college was
functioning as a constituent
college of Utkal University,
in 1956 and is producing high
quality
technical
manpower
needed by industry, R&D
organizations, and academic
institutions. The departmental
activities
embrace
Planning,
Design, Construction and
Management. The department is
AICTE accredited for 5 years
from 2006. With the extension of
U.G.C.
sponsored
academic
autonomy to the institute upto
2012, the syllabi of the
department has tremendously
augmented with many advanced
courses. The Department offers
B.Tech
degree
in
Civil
Engineering and M.Tech. degree
in Civil Engineering with five
specializations, i.e., Structural
Engg.,
Geotechnical
Engg.,
Transportation Engg., Water
Resources
Engg.,
and
Environmental Engg & Ph.D
degree.
Eligibility of Participants
Research scholars, academicians,
field engineers, and corporate
executives can participate in the
workshop only. The ideal audience
would be numbered around 50
participants.
