DECA is going to Disneyland! We received word yesterday that three Hornets qualified for the
National DECA conference in Orlando Florida. Congratulations to Annalisa Lang, Lilly Becker and
our foreign exchange student, Lena Freund. They completed a thirty page project on The Hive and
Buzzy’s to qualify.
Attention Seniors: The Nellie Martin Carmen Scholarship deadline is fast approaching. If are planning
on attending a college within Washington State and would like to be nominated for this
scholarship please come the career center before February 12th to sign up to be considered.

AP Exam Registration is now open until April 6. An informational letter was emailed home last
weekend. This letter can also be found on the EHS website. If you have any questions, see Mrs.
Harmon in Room 422 in the morning before school or at break.
There will be a Key Club meeting on Tuesday, February 10th after school in Mr. Ihde’s room (#321)
We will be holding officer nominations for the 2015/2016 school year. Anyone is welcome to
attend, come nominate someone that you think would make a great leader. All members are
strongly encouraged to attend. We hope to see you there!
Attention National Honor Society members. Stop by Mrs. Ross or Mrs. Sandfer's room for a list of
upcoming NHS events. The list includes both service opportunities and fun.
Senior Families: There will be a meeting on February 12th @ 6:30 in EHS Commons regarding
information on the Grad Night Celebration. Please plan to attend and get more information, make
payments and etc.
Department of Ecology is looking for teens ages 14-17 to work this summer. There are two sessions
available to work. If interested please come by the career center for an application. Application
deadline is April 10.
Seniors, there are two new scholarships listed on the Swift site. If you are interested in pursuing a
career in Agriculture or Criminal Justice please apply or stop by the career center for an
application.
Juniors if you have a love for art check out the Korum Family Art Scholarship. This is a competition
based scholarship and your art will be displayed at the Washington State Fair Junior/Senior High
School Art Show. The top three finishers will be awarded scholarships. If you are interested you
can go online to the swift page under career and counseling or stop by the career center for an
Save the Date! EHS is hosting Beyond High School Night on Monday March 2nd from 6:30 pm 8:00 pm
in the commons. This is your opportunity to talk with representatives from area colleges,
universities, technical schools and military personnel about your future beyond high school.
