Engagement State Priority: Parental Involvement The SARC provides the follow ing information relevant to the Parental Involvement State Priority (Priority 3): Efforts the school district makes to seek parent input in making decisions for the school district and each schoolsite. Opportunities for Parental Involvement - Most Recent Year SCVi seeks to provide revolutionary education through creativity, innovation, and connectivity to the real-w orld. Family partnerships through serious and meaningful engagement are also at the forefront of the school’s progressive charge and have helped lead the w ay to the successful fulfillment of its mission. Parents are involved in multiple w ays as SCVi. Some parents serve on our Governing Board w hile some take part in our Star Search w here they interview and provide input in staff hiring. Below are some of the many w ays that parents have become involved in SCVi. Parents are encouraged to contribute their creativity and special talents to support our school’s vision. After School Programs: Responsible for interfacing w ith the after school program representatives and setting a schedule of classes. Lost and Found: Coordinates volunteer efforts for the lost and found, helps to keep lost items organized and facilitates the periodic donations of lost and found items. In addition, every w eek the staff meets for TED Talks. TED Talks are part of the professional development that focuses on the “Big Ideas” or the “W hy” of w hat w e do here at SCVi.
