Christman Deputy Superintendent The North Dakota Department of Public Instruction (ND DPI) is pleased to announce the WIDA – Introduction to the ELD Standards Training. The training is being held at the Bismarck – Courtyard by Marriott on March 10, 2015. Registration starts at 7:30 am. The training will begin at 8:00 am and ending at 4:00 pm. This introduction to the ELD Standards Framework is based on a student-centered, teacher-focused approach to engage English Language Learners (ELLs) in academic language development. This interactive training provides a foundation for participants who are new to the WIDA ELD Standards. They will engage in hands-on activities that explore academic language to enhance student language learning in the classroom. This training has been designed for K-12 teachers, language specialists, administrators, and support staff. Online registration can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DDK3YX8. Space is extremely limited and registration will be on a first-come–first-serve basis. Therefore, if you are interested in attending, we strongly encourage you to register soon. The registration fee for this training is $35.00 per person which includes breakfast, lunch, snacks and training materials. Districts can use their Title II and Title III funding to attend this training. Schoolwide programs can use their Title I funding for this training. A confirmation email will be sent after your payment is received. You are not fully registered until we receive payment and you have received confirmation via email. To reserve your sleeping rooms call the Bismarck – Courtyard by Marriott at 701.223.6667. Cancellation Policy/Late Registrants We understand that circumstances may prevent you from attending this training after your registration and/or payment has been submitted. Submitting the online registration signifies that you are registered for the training and that you will be attending. Therefore, regardless of whether or not payment has been made, please notify our office if your plans change, and you will no longer be attending. Substitutes will be accepted for paid registrants. You can also request a refund for the registration fee. All cancellations and refund requests must be made to Jill Frohlich at [email protected] or (701) 328-2254 by 4:30 pm on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, as commitments for trainings and meals must be secured. If the deadline is not met, the registration fee becomes non-refundable as the ND DPI is charged for the cost of this training.
