Field Quality Control Supervisor Training
This Seminar provides the training required to become approved to perform the Field Quality Control Supervisor (FQCS) function on
ODOT projects or to acquire re-approval after five years since the previous training. The FQCS initiative extends the process of
contractor quality control to the placement procedure where contractor personnel control the quality of their work without direction from
agency personnel and is required by ODOT specification. The FQCS concept requires appropriate and timely responses from the
contractor to correct paving problems, demonstration of an individual's capability to serve as an FQCS, and provides for revocation of an
FQCS' approval for failure to effectively carry out duties. FQCS approval could also qualify a technician to perform QC coring.
Course Content:
 Introduction and review of the purpose of the FQCS program;
 Overview of Quality Control and Quality Assurance;
 Review of ODOT Specifications, Testing Supplements, Supplemental Specs, Proposal Notes and ethical considerations; and
 Review of issues related to typical asphalt construction problems.
Who Should Attend? Asphalt construction personnel seeking ODOT QC plan approval as an FQCS, re-approval after five years since
the previous training, Independent Quality Firm (IQF) personnel for ODOT Design Build projects, personnel needing approval to handle
QC coring and owner agency personnel seeking a better understanding of ODOT specifications and procedures for asphalt pavement
construction.

Registration Fee: The cost is $185 per person for member agencies, firms and companies of FPO and $210 per person for others. Student
rate for university engineering students is $110. Registration will be limited to 50 persons and will be on a first come-first served basis.

Substitution & Cancellation Policy: Substitutions are permitted. Cancellations must be made at least seven working days prior to the
seminar and are subject to a $20.00 administration fee. “NO SHOWS” will be charged full registration fees. FPO reserves the right to
