Music Notes
Our choir is composed of volunteer
members who rehearse immediately
before the 9:30 service on Sundays. If you are feeling
the need to give back, please consider joining us - even if
music is not your forte.
SCHEDULE CHANGES
February 1st and 15th Trinity will have one
service each Sunday. Both will be at 9:30
a.m. and immediately following the
services there will be congregational
meetings with Anne Yug, the Diocesan
Consultant we will be working with in the
search process. These sessions require
input from you and your fellow
Trinitarians. Please plan to attend and
become involved as we embark on this
important next step in Trinity’s future.
KROGER REWARDS
Kroger shoppers of Trinity have earned
$95.47 during the past quarter through
the Community Rewards Program. If you
haven’t signed up, or if your membership
has expired, please consider joining or
renewing. It takes only a few moments,
costs nothing, and provides funds for
Trinity. This program in no way affects
your personal Kroger Rewards – sales, fuel
points, etc. If you would like assistance, to
sign up or renew, please
contact Deborah.
Save the Date!
The Social Committee is going to
organize an Ancestors Pot Luck for
Sunday, March 22nd after the 9:30
service. Bring food to share that is
from your heritage. This will be a
fun event to share our family’s
foods. There will be a sign-up sheet
in the parish hall on the bulletin
board. Look for it in March.
A REMINDER
Protect family members of all ages. When visiting anyone in the hospital, a long-term care facility, or even at home
it is important to protect them and others from germs and ‘bugs’ that are spread through touch (handshakes,
sharing cell phones, etc.) or close contact (hugging and kissing). Please follow each institution’s request for washing
your hands every time you enter and leave the room. If additional precautions are needed (gloves, mask, and/or
gown) please use these supplies when entering and wash hands when you are leaving. Wipe down your cell phone if
you used it in the room or shared it with the patient or resident. These familiar practices are the best ways to stop
the spread of colds, flu, and other conditions that complicate the recovery process.

MOMENTS WITH MERLIN
Brothers and Sister in Christ,
It’s a beautiful spring day in Findlay even though it’s January. There is a big blue sky, the sun
is shining, and the temperature is in the 40’s. Spring training is only a month away. The Tigers,
Reds, and Indians all start their full team workouts the week of February 22. The Toledo Mud
Hens web-site did not mention a spring training start date.
Spring training at Trinity begins February 18 with Ash Wednesday. Yes, Lent is approaching.
Lent means spring. The Lenten Season is a great time to prepare to live the rest of our lives.
What does it mean for you? Giving up something? Adding something? What will you be
focused on? Maybe being more diligent in prayer, contacting someone who has been on your
mind, doing something about your anger or depression, going for walks, taking action on
something you have been putting off. Give some thought to your spring training this Lent and
make a conscious decision to commit to something.
My Uncle in Denver, who was still playing softball at 75, always says you are more likely to
accomplish something if you do it with other people. Here is where our brothers and sisters at
Trinity play a role. Support and encouragement will be a crucial part of our spring training to
prepare for the rest of our lives. Stay tuned for more details as to how we will work this out and
follow through.
As for now, you have time to think about what you can do to prepare for the rest of your life.
Pressing on,
Merlin Jacobs

FEBRUARY PRAYER
God of the winter sky, fill the night with stars,
For I need to lift my eyes and raise my weary soul
From shadows and short days,
From dreary tasks and unending lists.
Shine bright lights into the darkness
And remind me that new life and dormant seeds
Gather strength in the depths of the earth.
Open me to the newness inside me
Waiting to be born. Amen

Trinity Thank Offering (TTO)
As Christians, we are called to offer prayers each day. Along with prayers of petition and prayers
of remembrance, we do best if we start with the prayers of thanksgiving for our blessings. The day
begins in a much more gentle way with this priority in place. The TRINITY THANK OFFERING is a way in which
our parish recognizes the importance of thanking God for its many blessings. The TTO box in the sanctuary is now
green, maintaining a distinctive Trinity tradition. More members are becoming involved and those in need locally
will now benefit as these Thank offerings are directed to the Rector's Discretionary Fund. Please continue to give
thanks with offerings in the green TTO box.
Youth Sunday School News
The Sunday School class is seeking
opportunities to serve those in our church.
We are hoping to be asked to complete
projects like snow shoveling, etc. This work
will be supervised (and assisted) by the
parents of the children. We want to be
clear that we are not seeking payment for
our work, but are hoping to show God's love
through acts of service. This is our version of
the Backyard Mission Trip on a smaller
scale. The children are eager
to help, please consider
allowing them to serve you.
You may sign up in the
Parish Hall or contact
Emily Boerger at 419.425.5105.
Thank you for your help!

Sunday, February 15th is the next service in our season of Taizé Prayer
here at Trinity. Please join us at 5 p.m. for a service of prayer, song, and
contemplation. This service has developed into an important outreach ministry
for our parish to the community at large. Our season of Taizé Prayer runs from October through April held the
3rd Sunday of each month at 5 p.m. We can always use more help in setting up, decorating and clean up;
musicians; and hosting or helping to host the reception which follows each service. If you would like to help in
decorating, just join us after church as we set-up on the 3rd Sunday of the month. If you are a musician and
want to join our ensemble, we meet at 3:45p.m. before the service to rehearse – you are most welcome. If you
wish to host a reception or help with same, there will be a signup sheet on the bulletin board in the parish hall.
If you have been with us in the past, we encourage you to come again; if you have never attended Taizé
Prayer, please join us and give it a try.
