Version 01/15 General Information WEBAC Surface Sealants Special reactive bitumen-acrylate sealants are used for sealing surfaces in undergrade or freely accessible buildings and structures. These systems also withstand high water loads and are especially suited for use in the protection of historic monuments. In addition, plastic modified high-build bituminous coatings (KMB) according to DIN 18195 are used as (classic) surface sealants in buildings and structures. Reinforcement fabric is used as reinforcing material in the area of joints and for bridging cracks. Mixing • The containers are provided according to the required mixing ratio 2 min • Use the material immediately after mixing Please observe the mixing instructions for the respective material. 2 min Application Bitumen-Acrylate Dispersion Preparatory work It is recommended to apply a thin coat of primer (WEBAC 5611 without cement) before the application of WEBAC 5611. Apply the bitumen-acrylate dispersion by roller or wide brush. Reinforcing fabric can be used to reinforce cor ners and to bridge expansion joints. ® Structural analysis before the application: • Nature of the substrate • Structural conditions (temperature and air humidity) ® • Water load classes Undercoat • Existing surface interruptions due to fitted components (e.g. pipe ducts) Substrates must be primed with an undercoat of WEBAC 5620 before applying WEBAC high-build bituminous coatings. This provides information on: WEBAC-Chemie GmbH Fahrenberg 22 22885 Barsbüttel Germany Tel. +49 40 67057- 0 Fax +49 40 6703227 [email protected] www.webac.de ® Polymer modified high-build bituminous coating • Selection of the suitable product • Pretreatment of the substrate Substrates must be free of loose and separative substances. Slightly absorptive substrates should be roughened using a suitable method. Open joints, concave moldings and rounded edges in corners must be closed with mortar or floated to obtain a closed, smooth surface. Old, firmly adhering bituminous sealants can be reworked after cleaning. An installation finish must be applied on concrete substrates before applying the high-build bituminous coating; the coating material itself can be used as installation finish. Apply the polymer modified high-build bituminous coating at the respectively required layer thickness by smoothing trowel or trowel in at least two operations. Air humidity and sunlight influence the curing speed. Only use pure WEBAC surface sealants without any residues from cleaning agents or other impurity. For further information on the use of high-build bituminous coatings, please see current norm. Cleaning • Clean the equipment thoroughly with water any time work is interrupted for a longer period of time and after use • Remove cured residues of WEBAC 5620 with white spirit ® Technical Information p. 3/4 All the data indicated in this technical data sheet and any related information provided by our employees are of an advisory nature representing our current state of knowledge and in no way binding.
