The minimum number of submissions needed to publish this book is 15. 6 (If you have already RSVP’d for this, no need to reply again) RSVP #7 7 RSVP Forms Transitioning to E-Sign Up Each newsletter that is sent to HSAP families contains multiple opportunities for student/ family involvement...classes, field-trips, performances, etc. all of which require a hard-copy RSVP form. The form is one way to place reservations, confirm number attending, obtain contact information and the like. This method has served the HSAP well over the years, but a new format is being considered for the next school year. In the coming months we will be piloting a web-based RSVP system for one or two events each month. Families will still receive a newsletter via e-mail, but rather than complete and return the RSVP form, some events will have a RSVP web-link located in the newsletter email. Families will click the link and be taken to a Share Point website specifically designed to register students. The same pieces of information will be collected, only it will be done electronically. We hope that this method of "RSVP" will save parents time, be more efficient for Resource Teachers, provide organizers of the event immediate access to participants registration, and cut back on paper usage. Please help us test out our web-based RSVP system by electronically registering for the The Valentine’s Day Party at The Play Station and the Juggling Family Class. Be watchful for other opportunities to electronically RSVP each month during this pilot program. Non-Discrimination Policy It is the policy of the Cedar Rapids Community School District not to illegally discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, creed, age (employment only), marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, and socioeconomic status (students/program only) in its educational programs and its employment practices. There is a grievance procedure for processing complaints of discrimination. District employees with questions or a grievance related to this policy should contact Jill Cirivello, Director of Human Resources, 319558-2421, [email protected]. The District mailing address is 2500 Edgewood Rd NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405-1015. FTC Robotic Competition League Championship CRHSAP sponsored a FTC Robotic Club for the first time this year. The team, known as “The Black Arrows” have been meeting two to three times a week since September to build and program a Lego Mindstorms Robot to accomplish specific missions. As the season nears its end, the team would like to invite all HSAP families to attend the League Championship, Saturday, Jan. 31st. The Black Arrow team is made up of ten students, grades 6 – 9. If your child/children have an interest in robots, or you would like to encourage them in the areas of mathematics, engineering, or programming, this would be an excellent opportunity to introduce them to the world of FTC robotic competitions.
