INFINITE WHONIVERSES- Snowtime like the Present! An Alternate Female/Timelady 10TH DOCTOR 1 It snowed on Boxing Day, 26th December 2014, just for one night. It had been the closest to a white Christmas in Widnes for several years. Davius enjoyed the feeling of it as it fell on his skin. It was unbelievable, that he was here, on the cradleworld of the Human Race, a place mentioned in several scrolls as a mythical haven, the beginning, lost eons ago. He sighed. He had fallen instantly in love with the TARDIS, in a totally platonic way, of course. He also had to admit that he’d had a crush on The Doctor as soon as he met her., back in the year twelve trillion and something. She had promised him a trip into the past to see how his ancestors had lived. Then, without any warning, she had changed her appearance completely. Well, she did tell him it was going to happen, but it had still been a shock when she had glowed and metamorphosed right in front of him. She had explained that it was part of being a thousand yearold Timelady from the planet Gallifrey, the ability to Regenerate, to renew herself, heal injuries and take on a whole new lease of life, which she had done nine times now and so was in her Tenth Incarnation. Davius could barely fathom the concept, having only twenty-nine Name Days in 2 his life. Not much of a comparison, but with his advanced research into comparative-mythohistory, there were probably a few things he knew that she did not. A snowball whizzed past his head, interrupting his reverie. “Hey!” He called out, turning just in time to get a faceful of snow. “Bull’s-eye!” The Doctor cried, coming over and helping wipe the ice off his face with her extraordinarily long scarf. She had managed to change her clothes in the time it had taken to arrive, which now included longer boots, a long skirt and a hat. He shivered in the cold, despite wearing a big, bulky fur overcoat she had leant him, calling him a great big Yeti, whatever that was, not that he was keen to find out. “Oops, sorry Dav, got a bit carried away there. Brilliant though, isn’t it?” She enthused. They had arrived in an Open Space called Victoria Park, which Davius loved, but she said it was about average as Parks went. He gawped as he took it all in- Alien things such as a Bandstand, a climbing rock, Tennis Courts and a pond full of strange creatures like Ducks, Geese and Swans. “So the snow is really frozen water?” He asked, feeling the cold flakes melting on his fingertips. 3 “Yes, look.” She said, waving her Sonic Screwdriver over it. “Of course, at the end of January 2015 it’s going to Snow, rain and hail all in the same day, but for now...” She stopped as a short trilling noise beeped from the device. She held it up to read the tiny LED screen in its side. “That’s well weird.” She commentated. Davius knew that he had to ask the most obvious question in the universe, just to feel like a part of the conversation. “What’s weird?” He asked. She waved the Sonic Screwdriver around, her mood shifting to a more serious manner. “There’s a signal. No way!” She exclaimed, marching off, her boots crunching the snow. Davius waddled after her, not used to wearing a fur coat, the bulk of it slowing him down. They followed the signal to a car park and she was horrified when three grey Daleks rolled into view, homing in on her signal. “Run for your life!” She told Davius, who more or less waddled for his life between parked cars while she made to vault over a railing. 4 “WAIT, PLEASE!” The Doctor hung onto the rail with her right hand, her right leg on the wall, her left leg swinging forth as she kept her balance with her left hand in the air. She had, never, ever heard a Dalek use that word before, EVER! She swung back over to face them. “Well, since you asked so nicely, what’s up Daisy Dalek?” “YOU ARE THE DOCTOR?” “Yes.” She replied. “YOU WERE THERE ON SKARO, IN THE DALEKUNIVERSE. YOU MADE A TREATY WITH DAVROS TO FIGHT YOUR ENEMY. YOU ARE AN ALLY OF THE DALEKS. WE ARE THE LAST THREE LEFT IN THIS REALITY, WITH NO WAY BACK HOME. WE WILL OBEY YOU. WHAT ARE OUR ORDERS?” Davius could tell she was shocked from the look of horror on her face, as if this was the very last thing that she had been expecting. She mulled it over. “Well, then Daisy, and Deirdre and Della, you can’t stay here and there’s no way I’m going to 5 let you wander round the galaxy on your own, so I guess you’ll have to stay in the TARDIS then. Follow me.” She turned round and led the way back to the park, Davius warily following, not getting what the matter was, but knowing that she would explain. When they were back in the TARDIS, The Doctor activated the controls, sending them elsewhere. “Okay, house rules- No exterminating anybody, no proclaiming that you’re the supreme beings and no conquering the universe, Understood?” The Daleks looked at each other, their eyestalks rising and falling in agreement. “WE UNDERSTAND AND WILL OBEY.” They chorused in unison. “Good. Now, go and explore, you are safe in the TARDIS.” Davius was bemused how they all trundled off into the depths of the Time Machine, instantly obeying. He had a million questions on his mind. “Doctor,” he began, but she held up a hand. “I’m sorry Davius, I’m not in the mood, I need to think. This was the last thing I expected, or even wanted. You go get 6 changed, have something to eat, I’ll catch up with you later okay?” He nodded, leaving The Doctor to think and monitor the machine. Whatever was bothering her had to do with the War she had mentioned, the one that had left her the last surviving TimeLady of Gallifrey. He went to his room and rested, knowing she would tell him when she was ready.
