A message from the
Chairman of the Board
Dear Fellow Chamber Members,
Now that the holidays are a distant memory, it is time to jump into the New
Year. The New Year is all about fresh starts and new beginnings. It is the perfect
time to visit with the chamber staff and see how to make your membership
work for you. Check the “Weekly Window” and dedicate yourself to making
at least one event per month. They certainly offer plenty of opportunities to
meet new people but there is so much more. Every month there is, free for
members, a business development workshop. There are new and exciting topics
each month. The valuable tools I have picked up from these seminars are
worth saving consulting fees alone- what a value!
A foodie’s favorite is coming to town. Epicurean Evening, hosted by Space
Center Houston, is scheduled for Thursday February 5th. We can all Buy
Into Bay Area by attending this fabulous night. Tickets are on sale now so
don’t delay. There are also early admission passes available so you can beat
the crowds. Sponsorships are still available and silent auction items are most
welcome. Contact the chamber today to find out how you can be a part of this
event.
The legislators are now in session and Austin is abuzz. Plan on joining us on Wednesday February 18th on our biannual journey, partnering with BAHEP, to Austin to educate legislators on what is important to the bay area. The
chambers focus will be on issues in education. Everyone is put into teams and well briefed on issues. The teams
spend the day on a detailed schedule of appointments with legislators from all over the state. We ride in a comfy bus
where there are plenty of opportunities to connect with other chamber members. I want to thank Lisa Holbrook
with Assistance League of Bay Area and Fay Picard with State Representative District 24 Dr. Greg Bonnen for
working tirelessly on this project to make it happen. Space is limited and filling fast. Contact the chamber today if
