Visit your children’s classrooms to view and experience religion, math, computer, literature, music, etc. classes as they happen. Schedules will be posted outside each classroom. TADS Re-enrollment for 2015-2016 –You should have received an email with a link to TADS regarding re-enrollment for the 2015-2016 school year. St. Paul’s Night at Wisconsin Lutheran High School - Parents and students of grades 4-8 are invited to attend “St. Paul’s Night” at the WLHS Boys’ Varsity Basketball Game this Friday, January 30. Festivities begin with tailgating and activities in the WLHS cafeteria at 5:15 pm, and end with the Boys’ Varsity Basketball game against Watertown at 7:15 pm. Everyone is invited to attend. Parents, please sign and return the report card envelope to your child’s teacher. You may keep the report card. 2015 Spirit Wear Order Form – Tie dye t-shirts are back! He is excited to join our ministry team and looks forward to coming to Muskego to help lead our school ministry. January Family in Need - The Lord called Mark Steinbrecher, the husband of our 3rd grade teacher Jeanne Steinbrecher, home to heaven on Monday, January 5. Mark had had a kidney transplant over 40 years ago. Because of that he was not eligible for a life insurance policy. We are certain that our St. Paul’s Church and School family will want to help Mrs. Steinbrecher through this difficult time. To make it easier for you to help Jeanne, we are making the Steinbrecher family the January Family in Need. Simply label any gift you would like to give “Family in Need” and place it into the offering or drop it off in the school office in the coming weeks. Extended Care – There is no school for St. Paul’s on February 5 and 6 and March 5 and 6, but Extended Care will be available for children that are pre-registered. Children that are not registered in writing will not be allowed in Extended Care on “no school days”. A registration form is available in the office and available in Extended Care or contact Mrs. Drska ([email protected] or 414-422-0320, ext. 144). Illness – Please let your teacher or the office know by the start of the school day if your child will not be attending due to illness. If your child has a fever or has vomited, do not bring them to school until 24 hours after symptoms are gone. 2015 Wrestling Season at St. Paul's – All boys in grades 2 through 8 are invited to join the 2015 wrestling team at St. Paul's. Practices will begin February 10 at 5:15-7:00 pm in the Centennial Gym with a brief, but mandatory, parent meeting. Practices will be every Tuesday and Thursday at St. Paul's with optional practices taking place at Wisconsin Lutheran High School on Monday and Wednesday from 6:30-8:00 pm. Sign-up sheets will be available in the office and can be turned in there or brought to the first practice. Adult Trivia Night - Organize a group of 8 friends and join us for a fun night out on Friday, Feb 20 at 7:00 pm. Enjoy ten rounds of trivia, spirited competition, and fellowship. Get Ready to Make a Splash! - Wisconsin Lutheran High School is inviting 4th and 6th grade students, on separate nights from 5:30-7:30 pm, to a fun evening of waterslides and swimming at Country Springs Waterpark Hotel in Pewaukee. There is no cost, however at least one parent must attend with their child. Six Flags Read to Succeed - The exciting Six Flags Read to Succeed program has begun! All children in grades K-6 can participate. Every student who completes six hours (360 minutes) of recreational reading will receive a FREE ticket to Six Flags! Tax Statements – Extended Care – Statements containing a summary of your 2014 Extended Care payments and St. Paul’s Tax ID number were emailed January 7. If you have any questions, contact Cindy Petraske ([email protected] or 414-422-0320 ext. 110). 2014 Private School State Tax Credit - For the first time in Wisconsin history, parents with a child in a private school will be able to receive a tax deduction for private school tuition beginning in tax year 2014. Under the program, parents statewide will be able to deduct up to $4,000 per student in grades K-8, and up to $10,000 per high school student. The tax deduction begins in tax year 2014. To access your tax credit information, please follow these steps: 1. Log in to your TADS account 2. On the top bar click Billing 3. On the right hand side click Household Paid Tuition Tax Report 4. Enter the tax year 2014 St. Paul’s identifying FEIN is 39-6045365. Additional information can also be found on the Wisconsin Council of Religious and Independent Schools website (www.wcris.org). Wednesday Lenten Soup Suppers - Christmas ends and it’s time to think Easter! We are looking to continue the soup suppers that have been provided prior to our 6:30 pm Wednesday Lenten worship services. This is a great opportunity for groups and/or organizations to gain exposure at the same time as serving fellow Christians. Lenten worship service dates are February 18 and 25 and March 4, 11, 18, and 25. If groups wish to be creative, please feel free to try something new. Use your imagination and have some fun. Anytime school will be closed for any reason, it will be announced on television and news websites, Channels 4, 6, and 12 or check the school website. If the Muskego-Norway School District is closed or delayed, so are we. SCRIP Program – Check out the additional retailers on the attached SCRIP Order Form. There are hundreds more retailers and businesses on the Great Lakes SCRIP website www.shopwithscrip.com. Just write them in on the blank lines on the order form. Northwestern Publishing House Rebate Program – If you shop at Northwestern Publishing House – either online, over the phone, or in store – your purchases can earn rebates for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or School. The program rewards participants with a 1% cash rebate for their designated church or school. Rebates designated for church will be applied to our Mortgage Fund, those designated for school will be applied to our Tuition Assistance Fund. Box Tops for Education Update - To date, we’ve collected 11,169, which is just over halfway to our goal of 22,500. Great job! The next collection date will be Wednesday, February 25. Look for a special treat in February. Keep clipping. Wave Box Tops for Education - With a great response to our Box Tops for Education incentive program for the games in December, the Milwaukee Wave has extended the same offer for two games in February. For every Box Top returned to school, a student can receive a free ticket voucher to a Milwaukee Wave game on either February 14 or 21. Forms will be available in the school office. WELS HAPPENINGS WLHS Dance Camp - All girls K-8th grade are invited to WLHS Dance Camp at Wisconsin Lutheran High School on February 28, 2015 from 12:30-4:30 pm. Girls K-3rd grade will focus on physical movement and putting moves to music. Girls 4th-8th will focus on basic dance team concepts and more complex skills. During this non-competitive, fun event, campers will learn a routine and perform for family and friends. Cost is $10 and the registration deadline is February 13, 2015. Wisconsin Lutheran High School Save the Date—On Sunday, April 26, at 1:30 pm everyone is invited to the Gifted for Praise Service of Dedication at Wisconsin Lutheran High School. WLHS Junior Viking Football - The Wisconsin Lutheran Jr. Viking Football (WLJVF) program is taking registrations for the 2015 Fall football season. WLJVF is offered to 5th through 8th grade boys, who attend a Wisconsin Lutheran Conference grade school, the opportunity to play competitive tackle football. Wisconsin Lutheran High School will offer a 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade team. Each team carries a maximum of 30 players. The teams will play a seven game schedule as part of the Waukesha Classic Youth Football League. All equipment is provided.
