The position requires some experience in one of the following field: many-core architecture, HW/SW modeling, simulation, verification, optimization and programming, security and robustness, methods and tools for SoC. EURAXESS RESEARCH FIELDS Computer science Computer architecture Computer hardware TEACHING Relevant teaching topics Undergraduate and master’s in computer science At least half of the recruited candidate’s teaching responsibilities will be at the undergraduate level. He or she will also participate in teaching master’s students in computer science, particularly as part of the systems electronics, computer systems (SESI) specialty. Teaching objectives and supervisory requirements The recruited candidate will teach CPU architecture, peripheral programming/management and/or modeling embedded systems, as part of the SESI specialty. The recruited candidate may also help to offer career guidance and professional development training for undergraduates, especially by supervising internships. The recruited candidate will also participate in first-year student research projects (ARE) and in career guidance and workforce readiness training, especially as part of the career guidance and workforce readiness courses offered as part of the undergraduate degree program. RESEARCH The successful applicant will conduct his or her research projects as part of the SoC (Embedded Systems) department, which is part of the Computer Science Laboratory at Paris 6 (LIP6). The research will address challenges presented by embedded systems of the future. These studies will focus on the algorithms, languages and architecture of these systems, which are characterized by massive parallelism and increasing needs for mobility and reliability. The laboratory is heavily involved in the GDR SoC-SiP research group at the European level, and is a member of the ASI (Accellera Systems Initiative) standardization consortium for specifying modeling languages for electronic systems: SystemC and its AMS and verification extensions. Within the framework of the Sorbonne University cluster, the laboratory participates in the SMART labex, the “Infenv” Convergence call and the IUIS health engineering group. The candidate should be prepared to strengthen our involvement by participating in work groups associated with these organizations. The candidate should be proactive in departmental activities, should strengthen existing industrial ties (such as STMicroelectronics, Thalès, Bull, Orange Labs, NXP, Infineon, Continental and Valeo) and should create new industry partner contacts. He or she will also play a significant role in the department’s ALSOC team. Ideally, the candidate will have particular expertise in one of more of the following subjects: modeling architectures, accounting for energy consumption, many-core architectures, scalability of algorithms and design methods, modeling, SoC simulation and verification; approaches to guarantee the security and reliability of SoC hardware and software; integration; cyber-physical systems; heterogeneous and mobile systems; and communication systems for health.
