Welcome to the gathering of the community of
believers known as Calvary Temple Church.
On this the first Sunday of February, which is our regular monthly
World Mission’s emphasis day, allow me to delineate again the ways
in which we support world missions here at Calvary Temple. It is
through our giving of undesignated mission dollars that our "shared
funding partners" are supported on a monthly basis. In contrast, our
"family business mission's projects" are supported through designated
mission dollars as the needs are shared from time to time. Both
dimensions of sacrificial giving are absolutely necessary to the health
and well-being of our missionary program as a whole.
We continue our series of messages today, "Gauging our Goals". We
have looked at our spiritual, physical, mental and emotional health as
it relates to you and me embracing the future in a positive way. Today
we will address the subject of relational health. This is certainly an
area where Christians in particular struggle with finding peace in our
relationships because of the many fears, both real and perceived, that
keep us apart.
I trust you are making plans to join us at Missionfest Manitoba this
coming weekend at Church of the Rock. There are five plenary
sessions plus many workshops. Please refer to the insert that was
handed out last Sunday or go online at missionfestmanitoba.org.
Friday evening at 7:00 p.m., the first plenary session includes a
traditional choir with participants from our own music ministry
involved. The main sessions on Saturday are at 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m.
and 7:00 p.m., wrapping up on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. There is no
admission charged and everyone is welcome.
Thank you for participating in the project for February which was
shared last Sunday. We are supporting "Hunger for Hope", by
bringing baby formula any Sunday in February. Please note, they're
asking for it to be the powdered kind and packaged in a can. Thank
you in advance.
Today is the final Sunday to participate in the process of suggesting
names to the nominating committee. The appropriate forms are at The
Connecting Point. Kelly Wiebe is the chairperson this year. He and his
committee will be presenting a slate of potential candidates for the
board of our church at our Annual Meeting on Monday the 23rd of
February at 7:30 p.m.
Tonight James Okot will be preaching at Grace Works, you are more
than welcome to join us.
