The play is set in Gershwin’s New York City apartment in the 1920’s and 1930’s, a time of energy and excitement when there was a surge in American popular music. The Gershwin brothers George and Ira (lyricist) were at the forefront of this jazz phenomenon , and left us enduring examples of the era. The play will be presented at 7:00 pm on Thursday and Friday, February 19 and 20, and at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 21, at the Baum Center in Kill Devil Hills.
