MidSOUTH Center for Prevention and Training January 30, 2015 Decision Point/Alternative Opportunities, Bentonville, AR M.A.T.R.S.* Treatment Planning: Making Required Data Collection Useful (*measurable, attainable, time-limited, realistic, specific) January 30, 2015 - 8:00 am—5:00 pm (8 continuing education hours) This workshop seeks to transform required “paperwork” into clinically useful information. There are many tools for the assessment of substance use-related disorders, such as the Addiction Severity Index (ASI). Counselors working in treatment centers often find that the instruments are time-consuming and not useful in helping to identify client problems, develop individualized client-centered treatment plans, or make referrals matched to client needs. This workshop will help counselors integrate the client’s information into well-designed, individualized treatment plans. James Bradley, MSSW, has worked in a variety of capacities in the behavioral health field for 35 years. He began his career as a caseworker in a substance abuse residential treatment program in 1973. Since then, he spent 11 years at the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse in the Program Development and Consultation area working with treatment and prevention programs throughout the state. Currently, he is a trainer and consultant with the South Southwest Addictions Technology Transfer Center and has conducted over 100 evidence-based trainings for counselors, clinical directors and administrators Registration for Workshop Thanks to generous funding from the Division of Behavioral Health Services (DBHS), the following workshop is FREE to DBHS-funded substance abuse treatment service providers and community mental health agencies.
