Release Note: Restricted Substances Data Module Release 5.1 for GRANTA MI January 2015 Release The Restricted Substances data module is a regularly updated information resource that helps you to understand your exposure to the legislation and standards that may restrict substances used in manufacturing your products. The data module is designed to be used as part of the GRANTA MI:Restricted Substances package, allowing you to apply the data to assess and manage restricted substances risk and ensure compliance. What’s new in this release? • • • • • • REACH Updates: o 17th December 2014 Candidate List Update o Updates to Annex XVII (Filtered and Full versions) SIN List Update 8th October additions (30 substances linked) Review & update of EU, China, Korea RoHS (no new substance links) TSCA Section 6 Update: Addition of mercury restriction Kyoto Protocol: Update of legislation record text Stockholm Convention on PoPs: o Update of legislation text o Link to HBCD restriction which came into force on November 14th 2014 How can installing this release help you? • Applying the latest legislation updates will improve the accuracy of restricted substances reporting and obsolescence risk analysis. • REACH reports in particular require the latest version of the REACH Candidate List to be in place, together with associated ‘Where Used’ data. © 2015 Granta Design Ltd 1 System requirements This release of the Restricted Substances Data Module is compatible with GRANTA MI version 7. See the documentation associated with this release for detailed system requirements, and instructions for installing the database. This data module requires 900 Mb of disk space in SQL Server 2008 or later for installation. Special instructions Please note that customers applying Data Update files must install releases in sequence (that is, release 4.3 must be installed prior to installing release 5.1). Instructions for applying Data Update files are contained in the download package for customers that require this option.
