Topic: Research and Residency: Working Hand in Hand
Speakers: Marie Gibson CCRP, Research Compliance Manager,
University of Utah OBGYN
In a collaborative setting, we will discuss opportunities and tools
used to educate and support residents with their research requirements. We recognize many interns begin residency with little
research background and knowledge. We will share tools our research group developed to assist residents in identifying a research
project and mentor, navigating the world of regulatory and compliance requirements, project conduct, close out and how to present
research findings. This is done in a positive, interactive environment
with support throughout the entire project. This forum is meant to
provide and share our ideas and positive results we have had with
our residents and their research. Research support staff, residents,
fellows and faculty will take away valuable information.

• Encourage Ob/Gyn residents to apply for MFM fellowships
• Familiarize residents with the application process
The Pregnancy Foundation Events
Queenan Event
Dr. John T. Queenan has spent his career in academic medicine
initially focused on pioneering work in diagnosis and treatment of
the fetus. He has been dedicated to providing the best and most
up to date education for obstetricians and gynecologists with an
emphasis on the delivery of this education in a simple straightforward manner. As his career advanced, he developed a passion
for international public health and therefore the Queenan Fellowships for Global Health is a fitting capstone to his career. The vision
of the Queenan Fellowships for Global Health is to train leaders in
maternal-fetal medicine who will advance the practice of obstetrics through novel education and research in underserved areas
around the world. Please join The Pregnancy Foundation and the
Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine in recognizing Dr. Queenan
and help establish the Queenan Fellowships for Global Health by
attending a fundraising dinner in his honor on Thursday, February
5th at 7:00 PM.
You may purchase a dinner ticket or tribute package and donate
to the program. Ticket pricing and tribute packages are listed on
the meeting registration form. A Pregnancy Foundation representative will contact you via e-mail to obtain all attendee names. Please
contact The Pregnancy Foundation Administrator at 202-314-2307
or [email protected] with any dietary restriction information or
for additional questions.
5K Run/Walk for Andy
Please join the Pregnancy Foundation at 6:30am on Saturday, February 7th for our 5K Run/Walk in memory of Dr. Andy Helfgott. Andy
was passionate about our organization and work of the Foundation
to fund scholarships for fellows and the Society membership. He
was full of ideas and optimism, and was particularly enthusiastic
about the involvement of our fellows and junior members in our
organization. Therefore, we will reinstate the 5K Run/Walk event at
our annual meeting in San Diego as a tribute to Andy. Please join us
in honoring the memory of Dr. Andy Helfgott and in supporting the
Pregnancy Foundation and its programs. We are very grateful to
our sponsor, Hippo ePHI Datastorage, Inc., in supporting the Foundation and the Society that Andy truly loved and was so proud to work
with. We all miss him dearly but let us all collaborate and Run/Walk
to keep his passion alive.
The course will begin at the Hilton Bayfront hotel, and will take
place on the Boardwalk. Participants will receive a complimentary
t-shirt onsite. Please see the enclosed registration form for pricing
information and to register. If you wish to make an additional donation in honor of Dr. Andy Helfgott, please visit, http://thepregnancyfoundation.org or contact The Pregnancy Foundation Administrator
at 202-314-2307 or [email protected].
