NATUURWETENSKAP OLIMPIADE 2014
Overkruin se leerders het in die Vierde Natuurwetenskappe Olimpiade 2014
(gr. 8 en gr.9), goed presteer. JJ. Vreugdenburg het sewende in hierdie
nasionale kompetisie geeïndig, terwyl Carmen Steyn en Laura de Wet ook met
gemiddeldes van bo 60% spog. Overkruin is trots op hierdie Ovies!

Dit is ʼn tuisbyeenkoms en begin om 15:00 en sal teen ongeveer 22:30 ten
einde loop. Veilige parkering is op die B-rugbyveld beskikbaar. Ingang is by
Pambati-hek. Toegang beloop R10 per voertuig en R5 per voetganger.

ATLETIEK: OUERVERGADERING
Alle belangstellende ouers word na die vergadering op 3 Februarie om 18:00
in die skoolsaal genooi.

RINGBAL
Baie geluk aan Paul Enslin wat verkies is tot Ringbal SA-span (o.17 seuns) en
tydens Desember aan die internasionale kampioenskap deelgeneem het.
4.4
OVIE GEES-GOGGAS
Hoërskool Overkruin se ondersteunersgroep staan bekend as die GeesGoggas. Hierdie groep van 300 leerlinge is ‘n samevoeging van graad 8’s tot
matrieks. Gees-Goggas vergesel die atlete na die volgende byeenkomste:
Interhoëratletiek, Interhoërswem, Hoërskool Die Wilgers en is ook teenwoordig
by die tuisbyeenkoms teen Hoërskool Zwartkop en Hoërskool Noordheuwel.
Ouers van die Gees-Goggas moet hul vergewis van die datums in verlede
week se omsendbrief. Die voorkomsreëls vereis dat die Gees-Goggas
volledig in hulle korrekte Gees-Goggadrag geklee moet wees met die
bykomstige hoedjie en lapelwapen. Ongelukkig mag geen atlete deel wees
van hierdie groep nie.

LEARNER/ACADEMIC MATTERS
1.1
NATURAL SCIENCE OLYMPIAD 2014
Overkruin’s learners did outstandingly well in the Fourth Natural Science
Olympiad 2014 for Gr.8 and Gr.9 learners. JJ. Vreugdenburg ended seventh
in this national competition, while Carmen Steyn and Laura de Wet also
boasted with averages above 60%. Overkruin is proud of these Ovies!

This will be a home event which will start at 15:00 and will end at
approximately 22:30. Safe parking will be available on the B rugby field. The
entrance is at the Pambati gate. Entrance amount to R10 per vehicle and R5
per pedestrian.

ATHLETICS: PARENTS MEETING
All interested parents are invited to the meeting on 3 February at 18:00 in the
assembly hall.

RING BALL
Congratulations to Paul Enslin who has been selected for the Ring Ball SA
team (u.17 boys) and participated at the International Championship during
December.
4.4
OVIE GEES-GOGGAS
Hoërskool Overkruin’s supporters group is known as the Gees-Goggas. This
group of 300 learners is a combination of grade 8s to matrics. The GeesGoggas will accompany the athletes to the following events: Inter High
athletics, Hoërskool Die Wilgers and they will also be present at the home
event against Hoërskool Zwartkop and Hoërskool Noordheuwel. Gees-Gogga
parents should please take note of the dates communicated in the circular of
last week. The appearance rules require that the Gees-Goggas are dressed
in the correct Gees-Gogga uniform with the hat and badge. Unfortunately no
athlete may be part of this group.
