Museum.
town of Cammin with its lovely town hall and market square.
Cammin was considered the city from which Christianity spread
throughout Pomerania and in the 12th Century was the seat of
the Pomeranian Diocese. Our journey continues and our next
stop is the tourist center of Hoff, famous for its ancient church
which has been reduced over the ages to a lone south wall.
Leaving from Hoff, we travel to Kolobrzeg where we’ll spend
the next two nights. (B,D)
Monday, June 1 – KOLOBRZEG (Kolberg)
This morning we enjoy sightseeing of the lovely Baltic Sea
resort of Kolobrzeg with its 10 mile beach, a popular summer
resort and spa for Europeans. After our tour, we’ll enjoy an
excursion by boat on the Baltic Sea. The afternoon is free for
you to rest and prepare for the second half of our tour. (B)
In the afternoon, we’ll travel to Wismar, where we’ll make a
short stop to see the lovely Wismar Marktplatz and the
Georgenkirche, badly damaged in World War II and now rebuilt
to its former glory. We’ll drive to the Baltic coast and the port
city of Rostock for overnight. (B,D)
Tuesday, June 2 – KOLOBRZEG/DANZIG (Gdansk)
Leaving Kolbrzeg (Kolberg) we’ll travel along the Pomeranian
landscape to Koslin (Koszalin), Stolp (Slupsk), and Butow
(Bytow) to Gdansk (Danzig) for sightseeing of the city. Badly
damaged in World War II, the city has risen from ashes to its old
glory. Here we will see the beautiful old Market Square with the

houses in the heart of the old city. (B,D)
Friday, May 29 – STRALSUND (Griefswald)

Greifswald with its three church towers nicknamed “Fat Mary”,
“Little Jakob” and “Long Michael”. On our tour we will see the
fascinating Old Town, its architectural mix resulting from 40
years of East German rule. Following our sightseeing, we visit
the Pomeranian Archives. After our visit and time for lunch

Landesmuseum. We return to Stralsund in the early evening.

wheat trade and fishing industry, this city became a member of
the Hanseatic League in the 14th century. We will see the
restored old Town Hall in Neumarkt, the remains of the
Baubrucke, in former times the last bridge across the Oder River,
before it enters the sea. We will see the former Berlin Gate, now
the Harbor Gate, and also King’s Gate, the only baroque city
gate of Northern Germany. Next we’ll see the rebuilt
drawbridge, formerly known as Hansabrucke. The afternoon is
at leisure to explore your family genealogy, for independent
sightseeing and shopping, or perhaps to visit other villages. (B)

buildings and step back into time to see how our ancestors lived
before continuing our journey to Stralsund. (B,D)
