The EVENTS TEAM is seeking additional members. If you want more information, or

BIBLE STUDIES: Starting February 19th, on Thursday mornings at 10:00am, we will be
studying Adam Hamilton’s, “Final Words”. Starting March 1st, on Sunday nights after the
new contemporary service, we will be studying “Just Walk Across the Room”, by Bill

2015 at the East Derry Fire Company; it is located at 1800 Glenwood Ave., 2.2 miles N.
on route 522 from the 322 & 522 interchange in Lewistown, PA. Bob Booz will coordinate
transportation for those interested in assisting in the meat cutting on Monday, February 9,
2015. We will plan to leave the church at 7:30 AM and return at noon. A sign-up sheet is in
the hallway.

GRACE CAKE PREPARERS NEEDED!
The Cellar Dwellers class is looking for people willing to
prepare Grace Cakes. Supplies are in the kitchen.
Preparers will need to be at the church by 9 AM and
should be finished by 9:45 AM. A sign-up sheet is in

Help for Haiti
Please help with fundraising efforts for our February mission trip to Haiti. Our goal is to
raise $10,500.00. Money will be used for building projects for the people of Haiti. None of the money
will be used for travel expenses for our 21 member team.
The Grace UMC “Peanut Butter Egg” fund has already donated $3,500.00. That money
could fund a village project for three weeks, but we still have $7,000.00 to earn for two more
projects.
Checks may be made payable to GUMC with “Haiti Fund” on the memo line. Cash may be
placed in the coin collection kettle at the front of the church or given to the children when they collect
each Sunday. Thank you, in advance, for your help!

Team TJ is participating in the New York RIDE TO VICTORY, (a
150 mile bike race to raise money for immunotherapy cancer research)
June 6-7, 2015. We have 5 riders participating and raising funds for
theCancer Research Institute, and are offering these t-shirt sales to help
us meet our fundraising goal of $12,500. The navy blue and white
design features TEAM TJ in the center, with the inspirational quote:
When the world says, “give up,” HOPE whispers, “try one more
time.” on the front of the t-shirt. On the back, the number 59 is
highlighted - the number of tumors that TJ has beaten to date – along
with Support ASPS Research and the www.cureasps.org website
address – this is the specific cancer that TJ and his family are fighting.
We have two t-shirt styles to choose from in youth and adult sizes.
Please pick up an order form on the table outside of the sanctuary,
in the church office, or call Kathy Coursen at 364-2144 for more
information.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The 50th Anniversary of Grace Church is rapidly approaching. The date of October 18,
2015, has been set as the day of celebration. Some suggestions such as a photo display, a
meal, and a time for sharing from former pastors and members, are some things that have
been mentioned. The Bishop has been invited to be the speaker at the morning worship
service and confirmation of this has been received from his office.
