MEMBERSHIP TYPES FACILITY MEMBERSHIP RATES FACILITY MEMBERSHIP Get full access to fitness centers at all five YMCAs in Snohomish County with a Facility Membership. Choose from a wide menu of free group exercise classes, enjoy lap and recreational swimming, and receive a free wellness orientation when you join. And as a facility member, you’ll be eligible for priority registration and reduced fees on specialty classes and programs for your whole family. Membership PROGRAM MEMBERSHIP If you’re not already a Y Facility Member and want to participate in programs like summer camps, youth sports, swimming lessons and child care, you’ll need an annual Program Membership. You’ll receive the same great level of quality and caring for which the Y is known, but without access to wellness centers and other amenities offered through a full Facility Membership. COMMUNITY MEMBERSHIP Belonging is a philosophy at the heart of the Y. Everyone in the community is considered a free Community Member and is welcome to participate in key community events and programs such as fun runs, health fairs, and community education. MEMBER GET A MEMBER It’s a win-win at the Y! When you refer a friend, and they sign up for a Y membership, you’ll receive one month free membership for yourself. Gain a workout buddy and money in your pocket. Pick up a Member-Get-A-Member guest pass at Member Services. MEMBERSHIP CARD Your membership card is valuable and important. A valid membership card or photo ID is required every time you enter the Y. If you lose your card, you can get a replacement for a small fee. You can also create a digital card to scan at the branch with our mobile app. AWAY PROGRAM The AWAY (Always Welcome at YMCAs) program allows you to access Y’s around the country when visiting from out-of-town. Just show your valid Y membership card. This program is good for 12 visits per calendar year. Y’s in the Puget Sound Triangle Membership area are not considered part of the AWAY program for Triangle Members. GUESTS Your membership includes 12 complimentary guest passes per year please use them! Each pass is good for one redemption at any branch of the YMCA of Snohomish County, and admits one person or one family to join you at the Y. At busy times, the Y reserves the right to limit guest usage. PROGRAM REFUND GUIDELINES The following guidelines are for programs that do not have required deposits (which are non-refundable). Special restrictions apply to Camp, Child Care, Membership and other programs that are clearly stated in their brochures and registrations. Program Directors have the final say to make any allowances other than the following: All guests must present photo identification and adhere to facility guidelines. A guest may use Y facilities up to three times in one calendar year with a member. Thereafter, a day pass or membership must be purchased. Cancelling a program 1 week prior to first day of the program start date=100% full refund less a minimum of a $5 service fee may apply Cancelling a program after the program start date = refunds will be prorated less a minimum of a $5 service fee may apply Cancelling a program half-way or more after the program start date = no refund. FINANCIAL AID Unable to afford the full cost of YMCA memberships and programs? Apply confidentially for financial assistance, forms are located in the lobby and are also available on our website. Member Services staff are available assist you with your request. PAYMENT OPTIONS Bank draft and credit card payments are a convenient way to pay membership fees and ensure your membership is current. New membership activation requires a one-month payment of membership dues and pro-rated monthly fees at time of enrollment as well as banking account information or a credit card. Annual payments are perfect for members who want to pay for their membership one year at a time. This option requires payment of 12 months at time of enrollment. LEAVE OF ABSENCE: Members may have their membership held in abeyance once per calendar year upon 15 days advance written notice if membership dues are current. WINTER 2015 | EVERETT FAMILY YMCA 5 GENERAL INFORMATION FACILITY GUIDELINES • Ages 6 and under must have direct supervision at all times. • Ages 7-11 must be accompanied by a supervising individual who remains in the building. • Ages 12 & 13 are not required to be accompanied by a supervising individual but are subject to age restrictions for specific areas. • Ages 14 and older are considered adults only for the purpose of use of the facilities and programs. ELECTRONIC USAGE GUIDELINES Due to the advances in mobile and video technology, and for the privacy and protection of all our members, the YMCA of Snohomish County asks that members, participants, and guests adhere to the following guidelines. RAQUETBALL COURT RENTALS Courts may be reserved up to a day in advance by calling Member Services or in person. Reservations are encouraged to guarantee your desired time. There is a one hour reservation limit per person during peak usage times. Racquets, balls, and eye protection can be checked out with your membership card. ATTIRE As a family organization, the YMCA of Snohomish County encourages members and their guests to maintain an appearance that is not disruptive, distracting, nor offensive in any regard and to wear attire that does not present health or safety concerns. Accordingly, Y staff may restrict appearance and attire with special consideration for those specific issues. These guidelines are meant for example purposes and may not be inclusive of all expectations. • Use of electronic devices is not permitted - at any time - in Y locker rooms and youth program areas. • As a courtesy to other members, please set phones to silent while working out. • Please limit phone conversations to the lobby or non-workout areas. • Taking photos or video without permission from the Executive Director is not permitted on Y premises. FOOD AND BEVERAGES No food or drink other than water is permitted in the pool, workout and gym areas. SMOKE-FREE ENVIRONMENT In keeping with Y’s health and wellness advocacy, smoking is not permitted on Y’s facility or grounds. All YMCA’s of Snohomish County properties are smoke-free environments. Not permitted Clothing and jewelry that carry sexual, vulgar, or offensive messages or references, including pictures of the use of alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and gang affiliation. Any apparel item that can be used as a weapon. Jeans and non-workout attire are not permitted in workout areas. Required in workout areas Closed-toe athletic shoes. Shirts or workout tops. Eye guards are required in racquetball courts. Proper swim attire is required in the pool and spa areas. LOCKERS Lockers are available for day use by members and guests. You must bring your own lock and remove it at the end of each visit. Items left overnight will be removed from the locker room and placed in the lost and found. Always secure your belongings. We recommend that you not bring valuables into the facility; the Y is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Security lockers for small items are available at no cost. PARKING Parking is available in the lot on the corner of Everett Avenue and Rockefeller Avenue for a maximum of two hours at no charge. Infants and toddlers will learn to blow bubbles, balance in the water, kick while being towed, and personal safety. Children will use PFD/ Puddle Jumper, a Coast Guard approved Type 5 lifejacket to develop balance and independent movement in the water. POLLIWOG PARENT PIKE (2 ½-4 YEARS OLD) Parent Pike students learn to put their face in the water, bob with bubbles, willingly release from the wall/paddle away/paddle back to the wall, front float and back float for 10 seconds, and paddle stroke 5 yards while wearing an IFD, all while developing self-confidence in the pool. Parent Pike students will learn to paddle on front, back and side. PRE-SCHOOL SWIM LESSONS (3-5 YEARS OLD) PIKE Pike students learn to put their face in the water, will learn to bob with bubbles, willingly release from the wall/paddle away/paddle back to the wall, front and back float for 10 seconds, and paddle stroke 5 yards while wearing an IFD, all while developing self-confidence in the pool. Pike students will learn to paddle on front, back and side. EEL Eels will learn to push off the wall/swim 5 feet away/swim back and grab the wall, front and back float for 20 seconds, and jump into the pool with an IFD/paddle on front 10 yards/turn/kick back 10 yards. Students will also learn to swim 15 feet without an IFD on front and back while being introduced to the crawl stroke and backstroke.
