A great option is available to you when
you need a time out from today’s busy
world. On the 3rd Tuesday of every
month, St. Isidore’s parish hosts the
priests of Opus Dei for a men’s evening
of recollection. There is no need for
reservations, and there is no cost.
The evening starts at 7:15 with a reading and talk by a priest, with simultaneous opportunity for confession.
There is a lesson by a layman, and a
second priest speaks. The service concludes with benediction at 9:15.
This is an opportunity to have a respite
from the overscheduled lives we lead.
While the outsiders see the knights
serving others, this is an occasion to
meet our own spiritual needs.

FEBRUARY 2015 KNIGHTNEWS
Message from the Financial Secretary
Brother Knights,
My wife, Claire, extends her thanks to all for the sympathy wishes (on the death of her Mother) delivered by the many
Knights.
December to January is always a busy Ɵme. The Christmas Basket activity (many thanks for all those generous donations!) had a great group of Knights c. The 42nd Annual Crab Feed is now behind us as well. We are still processing the
income and expenses from that event.
The 2015 membership dues billing should be received by now. Thank you to those that have already paid. Very sorry for the delay,
but the anticipated transition of Financial Secretary held it up.
There are two reports that need to be completed by February: the annual report of fraternal activities that is due by 1/31/15 and the
semi-annual audit that is due 2/15/15, both of which will have been completed or nearly complete by the time you read this.
I ENCOURAGE YOU TO GET YOUR 2015 MEMBERSHIP DUES PAYMENT A S SOON A S Y OU CA N, THAT WILL REALLY HELP WITH THE COUNCIL’S CASH FLOW.
Fraternally Yours,
Mark Duguid
Financial Secretary

GRAND KNIGHT’S MESSAGE
Worthy Brothers and Sisters,
Our WPGK Dennis has done it all during his tenure as Past Grand Knight and Chairman of the Crab Feed Committee. The final crabfeed results
are still coming in, but will be posted on the 4588 website when completed. I can only say that we are “Over The Top” but only because of your
Team Work and Leadership to make this event the most successful ever in the 42 years the Council has stayed on course.
My tenure as Grand Knight is half over, but our new Deputy Grand Knight John Roberts is stepping up to the plate. One of the reasons that the
2015 Crab Feed was so successful was the auction, which DGK John and his wife Mary bid against my daughter and her boyfriend $3000 each for
the South Africa trip! Even the County Supervisor managed to get in on the bidding.
Our Crab Feed team was awesome in all they, and I mean YOU, did to bring off this event.
Thank you all, Brothers and Sisters, for your support on this Crab Feed event and for the coming year. I can only humbly serve you as best as I can.
And more importantly, thank you for all your prayers that have supported all of my family’s knee replacements. Without your prayers, we could
not recover so quickly and well.
Once again, I ask you go out and ask just one person to become a Knight.” I did, and it works for all the family, if you believe in what we do.
We Serve!
Coming up, the Council’s next event is the Walk for Life which we still need Peacekeepers for. See the email blast I am putting out for the POC’s.
In February on the 7th we have the 4th degree exemplification at Rohnert Park. The only requirement to be come a Sir Knight in the Patriotic Order
of the Knights is be 3rd degree member in good standing. If you’re interested, contact myself, PGK Vaughn Brugman, or SK Vinnie Correa to sign
up.
Also in February, there will be 2 Pancake Breakfasts for the 6th Science Camp Fund raisers and then in March we begin the Fish Fry’s. April
brings a wonderful extravaganza, The Red, Blue and Gold event at Blackhawk Museum attended by all the law enforcement agencies in the TriValley. You definitely don’t want to miss this one!
May brings our more than ever Famous Chili and Rib Cook-Off and Car Show followed by the Knights of Columbus State Convention in San Diego this year. In June I look forward to my retirement as GK and plans later in the year to completely separate and retire from State Service at Caltrans.
And again I just want to say Thank You for all you have done this past year, for your prayers and for what you will do in the years to come.
Humbly Yours in Christ,
Joe Revolinsky

Long-Term Care Plans Offer Peace of Mind
Since its addition to the Order’s product portfolio in 2000, long-term care (LTC) insurance has provided the Knights of Columbus with an excellent opportunity to further serve members and their families. And, for our long-term care policy holders in
the United States, there’s an added bonus.
It’s called “Provider Pathway,” a program offering access to a network of long-term
care providers at discounted rates. The network includes discounts on products, such
as hearing aids, diabetic supplies, personal emergency response systems, and durable
medical equipment, as well as skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, and adult day
care.
Eligibility for participation in this program is open to Knights of Columbus long-term
care insurance policyholders, their spouses, dependent children, parents and parentsin-law. All providers are fully credentialed and meet state licensing requirements.
If you haven’t yet spoken with me about long-term care insurance, you owe it to yourself to do so. There are a few decisions to make in choosing a “plan” — a comprehensive plan that covers care whether you’re at home or in a facility, or or one that covers
facility only; daily benefit amounts and benefit durations (how long it will last); and
the length of the elimination period (waiting period) before benefits kick-in. Having a
professionally trained agent ― and a brother Knight you can trust ― to help guide you
through the process is yet another valuable benefit that comes with your membership.
Take advantage of it; contact me today.
We could meet at your home or my office.
Your brother who cares !!!
