BANK SCAM
Please be aware that a scam, targeting elderly
people, is operating in the local area. A male or
female caller, claiming to be a police officer (who
may even provide a police number), rings to say
that all the person’s savings have been taken from
the bank. The caller will send a car to collect the
person (who will be instructed to take their bank
card) to go to the bank, obviously with the
intention of obtaining money from them. Should
you receive such a call or similar (someone
asking for your account or PIN number), do not
give the caller any financial details and call the
police on 101 to report the matter.
