Youwillwishyouhad continues torrid streak at Buffalo Raceway by Brian J. Mazurek, for Buffalo Raceway Hamburg, NY --- Youwillwishyouhad has become a regular customer of Buffalo Raceway track photographer Steve Roth in the winner's circle. There was yet another photo session with him on Saturday night (Jan. 31) as Youwillwishyouhad continued the 2015 campaign with another victory in the $10,500 Open Pace at Buffalo Raceway. Now a perfect three-for-three this season and in the money in 25 of 31 starts since the beginning of 2014 including 14 wins, Youwillwishyouhad (John Cummings Jr.) came charging down the lane to take a neck decision over Nothingbutmach in 1:56.1 over the fast track. Surprisingly sent off as the third choice in the field of seven at 3-1, Youwillwishyouhad ($8.60) was assigned the seven post and sat back and watched the action on the front end for more than a half-mile. But down the backstretch the final time, Cummings gave Youwillwishyouhad the green light to go and he responded perfectly, winging it three-wide to the three-quarter marker. Steve Roth photo Through the stretch, the 4-year-old gelding paced smartly past the remaining field and notched the head decision over a late driving longshot Nothingbutmach (Shawn Gray). A :28.4 last quarter by Youwillwishyouhad proved to be the crushing blow to the field. King Otra, the post time favorite, finished third with Billy Dobson in the bike. Youwillwishyouhad (No. 7) won another in the Buffalo Raceway Open Pace. Owned by Leonard Segall and trained by James Clouser Jr., Youwillwishyouhad (ArtiscapeDawn's Ideal) has now earned $15,750 this season and $81,917 lifetime. Billy Dobson and Kevin Cummings each had three victories on the card while John Cummings Jr. doubled.
