Drivers pulled over for a traffic or ordinance violation will no longer have to hand over their driver’s license as bond. They will just sign a ticket and drive away. They will either pay the ticket or take care of it
at the court.
The speed limit on tollways and interstates will increase to 70 mph for passenger vehicles while 60 mph
for semis on interstates.
The employers would be required to provide pregnant workers “reasonable accommodations” (heavy lifting, bathroom breaks, etc).
Schools can discipline students who bully peers on personal phones or computer, not just at school.
To keep young people away from e-cigarettes, a new law requires them to be sold behind a counter or
sealed to keep out of hands of children. Vapor refills must come in child-proof packaging.
Amish Illinoisans can apply to get State ID cards without having to pose for a photo.
Children with seizures will qualify for an oral liquid form of medical marijuana to treat epilepsy.
The Gray Wolf, American black bear and mountain lion will be added to Illinois’ list of protected species.
It means that land owners cannot kill the animals unless it is a threat.
Home sellers must now disclose door or window damage along with floor damage, asbestos, lead paint or
meth lab to potential buyers.
Beer tax rules updates to include hard ciders.
The milk definition now includes sheep, water buffalo, and other hooved animals.
Permits must be required for owners of venomous or dangerous reptiles and amphibians.
A new law requires information provided by the Department of Public Health regarding breast cancer to
explain the complications created by dense breast tissue.
Boating under the influence will get your boat impounded.
An orange flag must be raised when boat passengers are swimming in the water.

choice of doctors, specialists and hospitals. One
health plan will cover all your healthcare needs! Care
Coordinators will help in keeping you healthy and
assist you in reaching your health goals. Inquire
about your options in choosing the right plan; if you
do not choose a plan, a plan will be assigned to you.

WEATHERIZATION ASSISTANCE
Illinois Home Weatherization Assistance Program (IHWAP) is a year-round program using state-of-the-art
technology to make homes more energy-efficient for qualifying low-income clients in Chicago and suburban
Cook County. Weatherization provides safety and health equipment, repairs or replaces heating systems, seals
air bypasses and other drafty areas, increases attic, wall, basement, and crawl space insulation. These will save
energy for homeowners and keep homes warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
Schaumburg Township is one of the newest intake sites and many staff can help you with the filing the
applications.

• Proof of household annual income for those who are 18 years and older

The 21st Individual Handicap Deaf Bowling Classic Tournament will be held on Saturday, February 7,

Springfield Deaf Club will host its 33rd Annual Richard Koehne Memorial Individual Handicap Deaf

The 79th Annual Great Lakes Deaf Bowling Association (GLDBA) & 68th Annual Great Lakes Deaf

the Deaf & Hard of Hearing with low incomes on
Saturdays, March 7, 14 & 21, 2015, at the CHS
office, 2001 N. Clybourn Avenue, 2nd floor,
Chicago. If you need an alternate appointment
during the week, or a date in February, CHS may
be able to accommodate your needs.
Volunteers will assist customers with filling out
their income tax forms. CHS is an E-File site and
