Ampthill’s weekly market, held every Thursday, was granted its Royal Charter by Henry III in 1219. It is situated in the Town
Centre car park (Waitrose™) and trades from 8.30am to 2.00pm.
There is plenty of fresh produce and goods available including fruit, vegetables, fish, cheese, olives, bread, cakes, pies,
home baked goods, preserves, pickles, plants, pet foods and wild bird seed, household items, crafts, greeting cards,

Ampthill Business Directory
Ampthill Chamber of Trade are proud to support Agate House.
Agate House is a registered care and nursing home for 36 physically
disabled adults between the ages of 18 and 25. Agate House is located
in Ampthill in Bedfordshire. Residents of Agate House typically include
living with MS, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy strokes and other
acquired brain injuries. The home provides 24 hour nursing care as well as a
personalised and empowering service to ensure a good quality of life for all
who live at Agate House.
We are always looking for and are grateful for the support of the local
community in helping us provide the best quality of life for residents. We are
always looking for volunteers to help out as they are heart of what we do.
Volunteers can support by providing companionship, helping with activities,
