ACTS Young Adults, 18-28 years old
February 9th & 16th we will have
a 3 Part Series on
Spiritual Warfare with presenter Barbara Bailey. All
3 meetings will be in the St. Joseph room from 79pm. A brief description of Barbara’s presentation
is below:
In this presentation Barbara will point out the
subtlety of Satan in entering people’s lives and
especially his desire to lead young people away
from God at every opportunity. She will also
present those things that can combat him and
help us draw closer to God in all aspects of our
lives.
It's especially important today to understand
that we are fighting a battle that we must win.
Never before, have Christians been so openly
discriminated against. More Christians were
martyred in the 20th century than through all of
history. The massacres continue today all over
the world and in our own country, Christians are
threatened every day in the workplace, schools
etc. because of their refusal to deny Christ and
His teachings. We know that God will be
victorious, but we need to be prepared on all
fronts to fight the enemy.
February 23rd: We will begin a new
Fr. Baron Series, “Priest, Prophet, and King” in the St.
Joseph room from 7-9pm.

FAMILY CORNER
Jb 7:1-4,6-7, 1 Cor 9:16-19.22-23, Mk 1:29-39
We are reminded today of the importance of prayer and
reflection. Just as Jesus "went off to a lovely place in the
desert" to-be absorbed in prayer, we too, are invited to
spend time with the Lord. We are invited to spiritually
refresh ourselves in the way Jesus taught us.
FIFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME, FEBRUARY 8, 2015
Adults: How can I prepare myself to be more
purposeful about sharing the Good News?
Children: How do I share my faith and trust in Jesus
with my friends or classmates?
STEWARDSHIP
Stewards Pray Always
“Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to
a deserted place, where he prayed…He told them, ‘Let
us go on to the nearby villages that I may preach there
also. For this purpose have I come.’” - MARK 1:35,
38
In today’s Gospel reading we see a perfect example of
Stewardship. Jesus gives His time to do all that God
wishes - healing the sick and preaching. Yet, Jesus
also makes time to be alone in prayer. It is through
prayer, spending time with God, that we find the
strength to do what God wishes us to do. Be sure to
find time every day to be with God.
PLEASE HELP!! We wish to thank all
of those who have given to our Food
Pantry. We are very grateful for the help
you have already given us, but
unfortunately the need is ongoing.
The Pantry has plenty of canned corn, green beans.
Please supply canned fruit, pasta, instant mashed
potatoes, boxed rice and canned pasta (Chef
Boyardee, spaghetti o’s.
You may give a monetary donation place in an envelope
marked Social Concerns and drop in the Offertory.
Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated.
The Social Concerns Ministry thanks you and May
God Bless you.
God calls us to be good stewards of creation in all
the gifts he has blessed us with. As we begin our
Lenten Journey, walking with our brothers and
sisters around the world who are hungry and in
need, we pray that these, our Lenten sacrifices, may
be on offering of solidarity and a promise of
continuing work on behalf of all poor and
vulnerable people. As good stewards of God’s
many gifts may we always remember to love our
neighbor as ourselves. And whenever we feed the
hungry, give drink to the thirsty or cloth the naked,
may we remember that we are encountering the
risen Christ.
We asked you to join our parish
community-and many more than then 13,000
Catholic communities across United States-a lifechanging Lenten Journey with CRS rice bowls. As
we help the Holy Spirit changed the world.
Rice bowls had been sent home with the Catholic
school children and with the religious education
children. If you have no children in these programs
you may pick up your rice bowl aftermaths.
Please return your donation by April 12, 2015.
Thank you for your support.
ANNULMENT AND MARRIAGE
ISSUES WORKSHOP
Are you or a loved one considering a Church
annulment? Do you have a prior marriage that
needs to be annulled? If you were married outside
of the Catholic Church, would you want your
marriage to become a sacrament?
If the answer is “Yes” to any of these questions,
please consider attending a workshop that will focus
on these and other important marriage issues on
Tuesday, March 24, 2015
7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
at:
Our Lady of Peace Parish
Marian Hall
32 Carroll Avenue
Williamstown, New Jersey 08094
The workshop will be presented by the staff of the
Camden Tribunal and there will be a period for
questions at the end of the workshop.
SPIRITUAL ADOPTION
The tiny life of our spiritually adopted child remains
unknown to his or her mother, yet the Father and
Creator of all life, knows and loves this child.
“Truly you have formed my inmost being; you knit
FIFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME, FEBRUARY 8, 2015
me in my mother’s womb…My soul also you knew
full well; nor was my frame unknown to you When I
was made in secret.” Psalm 139:13-15
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much. I
beg you to spare the life of the unborn child I have
spiritually adopted from the danger of abortion.
Amen.

In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus tells us that
whenever we feed the least of our brothers and
sisters, we feed Jesus himself. At this time of the
year, many food pantries find themselves with
empty shelves while the requests for food are still
great.
In response, the Diocese of Camden is organizing
its second annual faithFULL Food Drive. On
Sunday, March 1, every parish and school in the
Food Donations can be dropped off
at all Masses
during the weekend of
