We also need people to serve as Ushers at Mass. As an usher, we help seat people, gather the monetary contributions, assist people during Communion, and hand out bulletins following Mass. As Ushers, we serve during a specific Mass time (i.e., noon Mass or 7:30am Mass) for that whole month but we only Usher every third month of the year. Please prayerfully consider serving our parish community as either a Greeter or as an Usher. If interested, please fill out the form below and turn it into the collection basket or the parish office. Thank You! NAME: Which Ministry you are interested in Serving? GREETER USHER PHONE # MASS time that you regularly attend? Can you help at other Mass times? If so, what other Mass times are you available? Email address: Dear Friends of Holy Spirit, We awoke to our first snowfall this week and a serious temperature drop. Winter is REALLY with us now. Please keep in prayer the homeless and those who may not have heat in their homes/apartments. If you would like to make a donation to an institution that serves the homeless, you might consider Holy Family Shelter which is run by Catholic Charities or Wheeler Mission, located on East Washington St. A few weeks ago, I asked for personal reflections on the question: “What blessing have you received that you would not have prayed for?” Several people have given beautiful tributes, but I would welcome more. If you have experienced something in your life that was difficult to endure or face, yet you were deeply blessed through it, please let me know. You can e-mail me at [email protected]. I am getting excited about our Honduras visit! We are leaving on January 20th and returning January 27th. Thirteen people will be making the trip, with ten of us having been before and three new visitors. This visit, we will be teaching English classes and visiting the sick in the mountains. As a priest, I will be involved with the visits, since we will be giving the Sacrament of the Anointing to the sick and elderly. I love this. I can still picture several of those we visited last year. One was to an elderly couple whose home was located a one hour walk into the mountains from the nearest road (we also drove an hour). I remember how they laughed and how he would not tell us how old he was (probably in his 80s). It struck me how isolated they were, yet they appeared to be content. So often their faith is a witness to us. God’s Blessings and Love, Please call Patty Caito at 317-894-2354 for Greeter information or questions. Please call Jim or Carol Shaver at 317-861-5199 for Usher information or questions. Thank You! PRAYER LINE - Have health issues, need a job? View this bulletin online at www.
