Manipal Research Colloquium 2015 Manipal University The last sixty years have seen institutes at Manipal taking meticulous and meaningful steps to build reservoirs of intellectual wealth and academic excellence. In the process, Manipal University has created some of the country's best institutes/schools across several diverse streams like medicine, dentistry, nursing, engineering, pharmacy, hotel management, allied health, architecture and design, communication, natural sciences etc. Each institution/school at Manipal is geared to meet the same demanding standards to create great professionals and citizens by inspiring them in many ways. Research has always been an area of paramount importance to Manipal University. The importance increased tremendously after obtaining the deemed university status. There has been a dramatic rise in the publications, doctoral degree awards and grants awarded by funding agencies since then. To instill and promote research in all streams of scientific disciplines, thereby improving output in the terms of innovation, technology, intellectual property and publications. • To facilitate research collaborations, good quality research programmes with national and international grants, research publications. • To provide expertise and training to investigators, researchers and PhD Guides. • To support patent filing activities and Technology transfer. Manipal Research Colloquium 2015 In order to inspire, inculcate and integrate interdisciplinary and inter-institutional cooperation, Manipal Education System Vice Chancellors' Council has decided to bring together researchers who have excelled in their areas of expertise. It is hoped that this effort will promote collaborations and interdisciplinary efforts to achieve high impact research and publication. The first colloquium was successfully conducted during April 2014. In continuation second colloquium is planned during April 6 and 7, 2015 and is entitled as “Manipal Research Colloquium 2015”. The proposed venue is Manipal University Campus, Manipal. It is proposed to conduct the Colloquium based on different areas of research. These are: Faculty members and research scholars are welcome to submit research abstracts through their respective campuses. Each campus can submit abstracts from all three disciplines/ tracks.
