2014-2015 POSTER CONTEST GRADES 3 - 6 WETLANDS ARE WONDERFUL! Sponsored by the City of Greensboro Stormwater Management Division and Guilford County Soil and Water Conservation District Individual students should create a poster that conveys the theme of “Wetlands Are Wonderful” Guilford County and Water Conservation District will provide poster paper to classes that call for presentations. You can enter more than one poster per grade not per classroom. All entries must be at the office for pickup by 9am on Friday, February 13, 2015. Arrangements will be made for pickup. Poster Contest Guidelines Grades 3 - 6 2014-2015 Theme: Wetlands Are Wonderful! Students must work on posters INDIVIDUALLY, not as pairs or teams. CONTEST RULES All entries must be no larger than 22”x 28” (standard poster board size). Entries must have a completed entry form permanently attached to the back of the poster. (No paperclips) Each poster should depict the student’s own idea(s), reflecting the theme. Students may not use photographs, 3-D artwork, computer generated images, magazine and newspaper clippings, or glitter. Scrapbook material is not allowed. Posters must be the original work of the individual student. Be aware of copyright protection. Children must create a poster based on the theme “Wetlands Are Wonderful.” JUDGING GUIDELINES Conservation Message (50%): Is the message related to Wetlands Are Wonderful? Does it show Best Management Practices to protect Wetlands? Originality (10%): Does the message show lots of thought in regards to wetlands? Creativity (10%): Is the message relayed creatively through the pictures, etc., used on the poster? Is the message easily understood by the general public? Overall Presentation (30%): Is the entry, as a whole, considered pleasing to look at? Readability (use of white space, type choice, neatness)... Is the poster memorable?
