IRS recomienda renovar el número de ITIN

Contribuyente (ITIN) próximo
a expirar y que tendrá que presentar una declaración en la
próxima temporada de impuestos, a presentar una solicitud
de renovación en las próximas
semanas para evitar retrasos en
su reembolso y procesamiento.
Además, el IRS exhortó a las
personas a revisar su solicitud
de renovación cuidadosamente,
el Formulario W-7, antes de
presentarla y ofreció consejos
para evitar los errores más
comunes.
Los ITIN son utilizados por
aquellas personas que tienen
la obligación de presentar una
declaración de impuestos o

This utility work must be
complete before the demolition
and renovations of the Houston
Street and Commerce Street
bridges can begin. The start
of SPC Phase 1 is located at
the tunnel inlet at Santa Rosa
Street and IH-35 south, adjacent to Fox Tech High School
and continues to Cesar Chavez
Boulevard.
“We are having this public
meeting to start talking to people about what they can expect
in construction as far as the
traffic impacts and some of the
construction schedule we will be
working,” said Suzanne Scott,
general manager of SARA,
during a community meeting
on Dec. 15. “This will be a
great opportunity for people
to understand and appreciate
how this project will transform
downtown. It is great to see that
the dirt is starting to turn.”
In 2013, Bexar County Commissioners stated that their vision of SPC would add substantially to the quality of life of the
residents of San Antonio by adding flood control improvements
that will catalyze development,
creating park spaces, outdoor
entertainment venues and other
amenities. As of 2013, property
values in the impact area of the
San Pedro Creek improvements
are $746,814,721, according
to the Bexar Appraisal District.
The refined creek will also
lead to over $1.1 billion in
new property, which represents
a 150 percent increase in the
proximity of the creek over a
10-year period. The project will
also encourage the construction
of over 2,100 new housing units
that will become home to about
7,300 new residents in downtown, also a 15 percent increase.
It is a $1.5 billion economic
impact that also plans to house
new downtown employees.
Scott added that this project
will set itself apart from other
historical land marks, using
businesses including the Frost
Bank Tower, which is expected
to be completed in late 2018 or
early 2019.
“Anytime you make this public
improvement, you want to make
sure that there are economic
benefits that come from it,” continued Scott. “You have already
seen that the Frost Tower will be
located along San Pedro Creek.
There are other businesses that
are already looking at transformation of properties along the
creek, and I think it has started
to have that economic benefit.”
Scott did note the familiar site
of restaurants along the River
Walk will not necessarily be
the vision for the banks of the
creek, but did go as far as to say
there will be opportunities for
commerce.

H-E-B to provide more than 2.3 million
bowls of oatmeal to Texans in need

battling hunger throughout Texas
and Mexico, H-E-B is delivering
the gift of food this holiday season
with a special truckload delivery
of H-E-B Quick Oats Oatmeal to
17 Texas food banks this week.
“One in six Texans live in food
insecure homes, including one in
four Texas children,” said Danny
Flores, H-E-B Public Affairs manager. “As the largest food retailer
in the state, it is our dedicated
mission to give back to communities in need and do our part to
make sure no family goes hungry
this holiday season.”
On Monday, a fleet of H-E-B
trucks began delivering enough
oatmeal to provide 2,350,080
meals to communities across the
state of Texas. Through the H-E-B
Food Bank Assistance Program,
these donations will benefit 17
food banks affiliated with Feeding
America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief organization.

program was founded in 1982
and is nationally recognized for
the financial donations and regular monthly deliveries of food it
makes to food banks in Texas
and Mexico.

Tim Duncan painting to be auctioned
by Silver & Black Give Back

San Antonio Spurs fans can
now bid on a piece of history
for the ultimate Christmas
gift. A one-of-a-kind portrait
of five-time NBA Champion
Tim Duncan, created by speed
painter Vilas Nayak during
halftime of tonight’s Tim Duncan Jersey Retirement Game,
is being auctioned off by Silver
& Black Give Back at SBGB.

Christmas Eve.
Nayak’s painting was done
live in under five minutes in
front of a sold-out arena during halftime of Tim Duncan’s
Jersey Retirement Night at
the AT&T Center. The six-byfour-foot piece shows Duncan
in his signature basketball-
hugging pose in a colorful
acrylic-on-canvas tribute.
The artwork was donated
to Silver & Black Give Back
(SBGB), and the sale will
benefit local youth through
SBGB programs like the Team
Up Challenge and the Spurs
Youth Basketball League.
If the winning bidder lives
within 30 miles of the AT&T
Center and will be home on
Christmas Day, the portrait
will be hand-delivered in a
special holiday drop-off on
Dec. 25.
