on the big screen. If you need help, call the office and we will put you in touch
with someone who can help. Series are available for marriage enrichment:

Sunday readings, faith understanding: SYMBALON; Catholicism, e-books and
many more. Go on line and investigate, perhaps start with a movie. Try
FORMED yourself and then form a group at your home to learn the depths of
our faith.
God tell us about the value of and wants us to develop the virtue of gratitude
because he wants us to experience the joy that comes from knowing we are
loved by him without limits or conditions. But, like every virtue, gratitude can
only grow if we exercise it. How can we exercise gratitude? There is nothing
easier. All we have to do is say thank you - and mean it. And it is never too late
to say thank you. In fact, the sweetness of gratitude, like the taste of wine,
only
improves
over
time.
We have all received a note of thanks at some time in our life, long after we
had performed the favor. When that thank you note arrives, it warms our
heart, because it shows that our action lasted, that someone was thinking of
us long after the favor was done. This week, let's warm someone else's heart
by saying thank you. We owe a debt of gratitude to so many people: our
parents, first of all; our teachers and coaches, and all those people who
dedicated themselves to us in our years of education; our first boss, who was
patient with us and gave us a second chance; the relative or neighbor who
inspired us with their good example; the soldiers who have fought to protect
our freedom; the police, firefighters, and statesmen who dedicate themselves
to keeping our communities safe and prosperous; the authors of those books
that have given us joy and inspiration...
Jesus has reminded us today that gratitude is a Christian virtue, that his
followers should spread the aroma of gratitude in this thankless world, for our
own good, and for the good of those around us. Today, let’s promise him that
this week we'll follow his directions.

for the Activity Center for $130,000.00 which brings the account to
$1,441,000.00. We have already spent quite a bit on Architects/Engineering
and testing fees. Please fulfill your pledges if you are behind. And pray the
permits will be released ASAP. They have been at the City already 17 months.

Dios nos dice sobre el valor de y quiere desarrollar la virtud de
agradecimiento porque él desea que experimentemos el gozo que

Pero, como cada virtud, gratitud sólo puede crecer si la ejercitamos.
¿Cómo podemos ejercer gratitud? No hay nada más fácil. Todo lo
que tenemos que hacer es decir gracias. Y nunca es demasiado
tarde para decir gracias. De hecho, sólo la dulzura de la gratitud,
como el sabor del vino, mejora con el tiempo.
Todos recibimos una nota de agradecimiento en algún momento de
nuestra vida, mucho después de que hemos realizado un favor.
Cuando llega esa nota de agradecimiento, calienta nuestro corazón,
porque muestra que nuestra acción duró, que alguien estaba
pensando en nosotros mucho después de que el favor se hizo. Esta
semana vamos a calentar el corazón de otra persona diciendo
gracias. Tenemos una deuda de gratitud con muchas personas:
nuestros padres, primeramente; nuestros profesores y
entrenadores y todas aquellas personas que se dedicaron a
nosotros en nuestros años de educación; nuestro primer jefe, que
fue paciente con nosotros y nos dio una segunda oportunidad; el
pariente o el vecino que nos ha inspirado con su buen ejemplo; los
soldados que han luchado para proteger nuestra libertad; la policía,
bomberos y hombres de estado que se dedican a mantener
nuestras comunidades seguras y prósperas; los autores de esos
libros que nos han dado alegría e inspiración...
Jesús nos ha recordado hoy que la gratitud es una virtud cristiana,
que sus seguidores deben difundir el aroma de gratitud en este
mundo ingrato, por nuestro propio bien y por el bien de los que nos
rodean. Hoy en día, ¡vamos a prometerle que esta semana
seguiremos sus instrucciones.

Arquidiocesano para el centro de actividad de $130,000.00 que
lleva la cuenta a $1,441,000.00. Ya hemos dedicado bastante a
arquitectos e ingeniería y gastos de pruebas. Por favor, cumplir sus
promesas si está atrasado. Los permisos serán publicados cuanto
antes. Ellos han estado en la ciudad por 17 meses ya.

para dar gracias a Dios?" Lucas 17:18 La mayoría de
nosotros vivimos vidas "fáciles". Tenemos comida,
refugio y ropa. Nos vamos de vacaciones todos los años y
somos dueños de uno o dos autos. La mayoría de
nosotros damos todo esto por hecho. ¿Has notado que
las personas con la menor cantidad de posesiones son
generalmente las más agradecidas? ¿No debería ser al
revés? Tómate tiempo cada día y agradece a Dios por
todo lo que te ha dado.

OCT. 30th - CELEBRATE PRIESTHOOD SUNDAY!
- This is the day set aside this year to celebrate and extend
our thanks and prayers to our priests who serve St. Jerome
community in so many ways. We invite you to give our
priests a prayer, A Mass, a Holy Hour, a Rosary, a spiritual
bouquet, a simple note or a smile to assure them of our
loving care and gratitude for their presence in our lives will
go a long way to serve the greater good of our wonderful
and growing St. Jerome Catholic Church. The reasons for
this celebration should be obvious. The number of priests
per Catholic has declined over the past 40 years. This
makes it more difficult for individual parishioners to
establish a close relationship with any one particular priest.
PLEASE PRAY FOR VOCATIONS AND FOR ALL
PRIESTS! Let’s celebrate this special day, in praying for
our priests, in praising God for their courage and their

El domingo 23 de octubre, la Iglesia San
Jerónimo celebrará el DOMINGO MUNDIAL
DE LAS MISIONES. Los Católicos de todo el mundo
estamos llamados a ofrecer en esta Celebración Eucarística,
nuestras oraciones y nuestro generoso aporte financiero a
través de la Propagación de la Fe para continuar la misión de
nuestro Señor de ayudar a los pobres y a los que sufren a
experimentar el amor sanador y la paz de Jesús. Nos
uniremos durante la Misa para comprometernos de nuevo a
nuestra vocación misionera adquirida a través del Bautismo.
Al rezar y responder durante el Domingo Mundial de Las
Misiones en nuestras parroquias, estamos haciendo lo mismo
que también está ocurriendo en cada parroquia y capilla
alrededor del mundo al mismo tiempo. ¡Nuestros mismos
hermanos y hermanas en las misiones se encuentran
ofreciendo sus oraciones y sacrificios para que otros puedan
llegar a conocer a Jesús! Esta fecha es muy importante en la
vida de la Iglesia, para impulsar en los bautizados el espíritu
misionero y solidario para ayudar a los más necesitados. Por

Prayer for Victims of Pornography
Lord, please help and protect the victims who fall prey to the evils of
pornography addiction, especially our young and vulnerable.
Pornography has become an intense worldwide war between good
and evil, with the souls of Your children as the prize.
Pornography misuses Your gift of the human body, our dignity
includes our sexuality, connecting us to an ability to give ourselves in
love to another person.
Pornography affects family relationships and impacts marriages, with
feelings of guilt, and unworthiness.
Pornography promotes sexual gratification in thinking and viewing
others in relationship interchanges and actions.
Lord, please help the victims of pornography find the strength and
courage to break the bonds of addiction, moving them from the
darkness of sin, into Your light and love. Amen
Pornography is a nasty word most of us don’t like to
talk about. It’s a plague of the worst kind. This is a
silent plague that destroys families.
WHITE
RIBBON AGAINST PORNOGRAPHY is one of
the many service projects of Catholic Daughters Court Ave Maria
#2001 here at St. Jerome. This program is an opportunity for all of us
to rally for a safe community and a strong country. This little white
ribbon is a symbol of decency.
This white ribbon increased
awareness of pornography addiction. Many people, teens and
children, are not aware of the quickness of pornography addiction.
Wear or display a white ribbon during WRAP Week and all year long.
White ribbons will be passed out Saturday, October 29th, and Sunday,
October 30th.

La organización de Hijas Católicas Corte Ave
Maria #2001 hacen su campaña contra la
pornografía cada año en San Jerónimo. Este
programa es una oportunidad para alertarnos
y que seamos una comunidad segura y un
país fuerte contra el flagelo de la pornografía
. Esta pequeña cinta blanca es un símbolo de
la decencia. Aumentemos la conciencia de
los individuos, de los padres y estudiantes.
Debemos estar informados
sobre los
siguientes hechos:
~ Muchas personas, niños y adolescentes
no son conscientes de la rapidez de la adicción a la
pornografía.
~ Las imágenes inadecuadas no se pueden borrar de la
mente e influyen en las acciones.
~ La adicción sexual puede ocurrir tan pronto como en una
semana y fácilmente en el término de tres meses para
muchas personas.
~ El comienzo a la adicción a la pornografía puede ser algo
como ver un traje de baño inadecuado o imágenes de
ropa interior. Mantengamos una batalla contra la
pornografía durante todo el año.
