Clinton and Trump clash in first debate

After criticizing one another’s shortcomings for the past
year, business mogul Donald
Trump and former Secretary
of State Hillary Clinton finally
went head to head at Hofstra
University on Monday night.
There was a hug and hand-
shake to start it all however,
both decided it was time to
confront topics that included
the Republican candidate withholding tax information to the
Democratic candidate’s private
emails; and in between they
went forward with topics that
included the economy, taxes
and domestic security.
Clinton stated that she wanted to build an economic foun-
dation that allowed the lower
and middle class to strive for
higher incomes and to gain
new and improved jobs. It
will then lead to all American
citizens to have sick leave, pay
for student loans and most
importantly, not to work hard
for a non-living wage.
“I want us to invest in you
and in the future,” stated the
Democratic candidate. “That
means jobs in infrastructure,
advanced manufacturing, innovation and technology, clean,
renewable energy and small
businesses because most of
the jobs will come from small
businesses. We have to make
the economy more fair. That
starts with raising the national
minimum wage and also guarantee, finally, equal pay for
women’s work.”
Trump steered the topic in
a different direction declaring
that if elected, he will bring the
jobs back into the United States
that have gone overseas. He
also emphasized that due to his
impressive resume in business,
he will make America bankable
again.

My name is Sandra Ledesma
and I am an Atrial Fibrillation
(AFib) sufferer. I live an active life
and I even have two jobs. I work
for the American Heart Association performing cardiovascular
disease and stroke education in
the community and I am a fitness
instructor at a local gym. I have
always considered myself to be a
health nut; so getting diagnosed
with AFib in July was not something that I expected.
One evening after leaving the
office, I decided to go for a short
workout at the gym. I noticed
that through my workout I was
sweating more than usual and I
could feel heart flutters and shortness of breath. I decided to stop
my workout and head home to
see if the fluttering would stop
once I relaxed.
Unfortunately, it continued
throughout weekend and on the
following Monday I called my
doctor and explained to him what
I was feeling. He urged me to
make a trip to the ER as soon as

like to increase taxes on the
wealthy, while Trump would
like to cut taxes on the wealthy.
“The wealthy are going
to create tremendous jobs.
They’re going to expand their
companies and do a tremendous job,” stated Trump. “I’m
getting rid of the carried interest provision. And if you really
look, it’s not a tax. It’s not a
great thing for the wealthy; it’s
a great thing for the middle
class. It’s a great thing for
companies to expand.”
The Democratic candidate
however was not buying
Trump’s belief into caring
about the minority vote.
“As I said, trumped-up trickle-down. Trickle-down did not
work. It got us into the mess we
were, in 2008 and 2009. Slashing taxes on the wealthy hasn’t
worked,” declared Clinton.
“And a lot of smart, wealthy
people know that. And they
are saying, hey, we need to do
more to make the contributions
we should be making to rebuild
the middle class.”
Holt then prepared more
ammunition for Clinton when
asked about Trump’s IRS audit. Trump explained about
his audit claiming that it is
unfair to expose his tax return
if Clinton does not release her
33,000 emails.
“I’ve been under audit for
almost 15 years, I know a lot of
wealthy people that have never
been audited…I get audited almost every year…I’m not even
complaining,” said Trump. “As
soon as [Clinton releases her
emails] I will release.”
Clinton then responded, “I
made a mistake using private
email… And if I had to do it
over again, I would…but I’m

not going to make any excuses.
It was a mistake, and I take
responsibility for that.”
After bickering at each other
for their downfalls, Lester
Holt brought up the topic of
Securing America. In the 21st
century, several institutions
have been under cyber attack
and secrets are being stolen.
For Clinton it is a hard job
tracking down the attacker,
but would like to strive to use
a different kind of warfare and
to protect U.S. Citizens. Trump
however, criticized the Democratic Candidate accusing her
of taking advantage of Bernie
Sanders and the Democratic
National Convention (DNC)
with the help of Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
Trump then went on to
blame Clinton for letting ISIS
get away from America’s grip
to justice. Clinton however,
refuted his statement and explained that there is a solution
against the topic of ISIS.
“We have to intensify our air
strikes against ISIS and eventually support our Arab and
Kurdish partners to be able to
actually take out ISIS in Raqqa,
end their claim of being a Caliphate,” said Clinton.
Trump countered by pointing out that former Secretary
of State Clinton has left the
issue largely unresolved with
piecemeal policy.
Although they did not cover
all the topics that they needed
to address on Monday night,
they will have two more opportunities to convince the
audience why they are the right
candidate for the White House.
The second Presidential debate will be held Sunday, Oct.
9 at Washington University in
St. Louis. The last Presidential
debate will be held Wednesday, Oct. 19 at The University
of Nevada in Las Vegas.

SOLICITUD Y DECISIÓN PRELIMINAR. Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas, Inc., 1 Lone Star Pass San Antonio, Texas 782643638, ha solicitado de la Comisión para la Calidad Ambiental de Texas (TCEQ por sus siglas en ingles) el Permiso de Calidad de

Texas en la instalación existente. La solicitud fue sometida a TCEQ el 18 de abril del 2016. La enmienda autoriza el aumento en
