Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year!! As I approach my 3rd year as principal of
Weslaco Pike Academy, I thank all parents and the community for trusting in us to
have all of our students reach their academic potential so that they are prepared for
college.

I’m excited to announce that we are going to be located in our new Academy building
which is on the East Side of the campus. Our teachers and staff are putting in a lot of
effort in creating positive learning environments for our students.

Uniform Requirements:



Shoes and Belts MUST be
all black.
Pre-K and Kinder don’t
need to wear belts.
Shirts, shorts and pants
MUST be purchased from
approved vendors.
At IDEA Weslaco Pike, we believe in strong parent partnerships. With this in mind,
I’m inviting you all to 2 school events that occur before the 1st day of school.
1. Welcome to IDEA Weslaco Pike Picnic: On August 6th from 9am-11am
you and your child will have the opportunity to meet our teachers and staff
through games, crafts, and activities. Free hotdogs will be given while they last.
You don’t want to miss out on all the fun!!
2. Meet the Teacher Night: You will have the opportunity to meet your child’s
teachers and explore our new building! We highly recommend that our
students bring their school supplies during this event. As you arrive, please
report to our school cafeteria to pick up your child’s schedule. With the high
volume of parents, we have separated Pre-K from Kinder-4th. ALL Pre-K
Sessions are MANDATORY and parents must attend at least 1 of the
following.
a. August 2nd- Pre-K AM Sessions at 5:00 pm and 5:45pm
b. August 3rd: Pre-K PM Sessions at 5:00 pm and 5:45pm
c. August 10th: Kinder-4th from 5:00-6:30pm
We are very excited to begin the road to college with you and your son/daughter! We
will be available throughout the summer and hope to see you at our school events.

Estoy emocionado de anunciar que vamos a estar ubicados en el nuevo edificio de la Academia,
que está en el lado este de la escuela. Este cambio no tendrá impacto en nuestra zona de
bajada/levantar. (Ver adjunto) También hemos subido información adicional de vuelta a la
escuela en nuestro sitio web en at http://www.ideapublicschools.org/our-schools/ideaweslaco-pike/resources/back-to-school Aquí encontrará las listas de útiles escolares,
uniformes, requisitos, etc.
En IDEA Weslaco Pike, creemos en fuertes asociaciones con los padres. Con esto en mente los
invito a todos a 2 eventos escolares que ocurren antes del 1er día de clases.
1. Picnic de Bienvenido a IDEA Weslaco Pike: El 6 de agosto a partir de 9 a.m.-11
a.m. usted y su hijo(a) tendrá la oportunidad de conocer a nuestros maestros y personal a
través de juegos, manualidades y actividades. Perros calientes se darán gratis mientras
duren. Usted no quiere perder la oportunidad de toda la diversión!!
2. Noche de Conozca al Maestro(a): Usted tendrá la oportunidad de conocer a los
maestros de su hijo(a) y explorar nuestro nuevo edificio! Le recomendamos
encarecidamente que los estudiantes traigan sus útiles escolares durante este evento. Desde
su llegada, por favor, repórtese a la cafetería de la escuela para recoger el horario de su
hijo(a). Con el alto volumen de los padres, nos hemos separado Pre-K del Kinder-4º. Las
secciones de Pre-K son obligatorias y padres necesitan que asistir un de las dos opciones.
a. 2º- segundo de agosto: Las Pre-K clases de la mañana (5:00pm y 5:45pm)
b. 3 ª do de agosto: Las Pre-K clases de la tarde (5:00pm y 5:45pm)
c. 10 de agosto: Kinder-4º de 5: 00-6: 30 pm
¡Estamos muy entusiasmados de iniciar el camino a la universidad con usted y su hijo(a)!
Estaremos a su disposición durante todo el verano y esperamos verlos en nuestros eventos
escolares. Si tiene alguna pregunta, por favor no dude en extender la mano.
