LETTER FROM OUR PASTOR
Dear Parishioners,
One of the most famous football players in the history of the game
is Hall of Fame quarterback, Roger Staubach. He won the
Heisman Trophy in college. Then he went on to lead the Dallas
Cowboys to seven division titles and two Super Bowl victories. He
was the NFL's passing champion four times and made six trips to
the Pro-Bowl before being inducted into the Professional Football
Hall of Fame.
How did he reach such an extraordinary level of excellence and
effectiveness? Through learning to obey. Even though Roger was
the quarterback, his coach, another Hall of Famer, Tom Landry,
insisted on calling all the plays. Staubach admitted that being a
quarterback who didn't call his own signals was a source of trial
for him at first. Coach Landry sent in every play. He told Roger
when to pass, when to run, and only in emergency situations
could he change the play. Even though Roger considered coach
Landry to have a "genius mind" when it came to football strategy,
his pride made him itch to be able to run his own team. And yet,
he did what the coach wanted. At first he did it reluctantly, but
later he did it gladly. As he explained after he retired, "I faced up
to the issue of obedience. Once I learned to obey, there was
harmony, fulfillment, and victory." God is much wiser than even
the greatest football coach. And he wants us to experience his
victory in life even more than we do ourselves - victory over sin,
over selfishness, over frustration, over everything that holds us
back from true fulfillment now and for all eternity. All we have to
do is follow in the Apostles' footsteps by handing over our loaves
and fish.
God is active in each of our lives. He may be asking us to forgive
someone who doesn't deserve to be forgiven. He may be asking
us to take a leap of faith and finally start obeying his teaching on
artificial birth control. He may be asking us to give up a sinful
habit or to confess a sin that has been poisoning our lives. He
may be asking some of those among us to give their lives
completely to him, following a vocation to the priesthood or the
consecrated life. Each one of us knows what God is asking of us.
And each one of us is probably feeling a little bit afraid to say yes.
Jesus wants to overcome that fear. And he can, through the
Eucharist. The Body and Blood of Christ that we received in Holy
Communion and that accompanies us every day here in the
Tabernacle is our guaranteed source of supernatural strength and
hope. The closer we live to the Eucharist, the stronger we
become. We all want to live closer to Christ. We all believe that
following him is the path to true, lasting happiness. So let's live
closer to the Eucharist. That may mean coming to receive Holy
Communion during the week once or twice, coming to adoration,
or even just making a brief visit each day to pray at the
Tabernacle. Today, on this great feast of the Body and Blood of
Christ, let's promise Jesus that we will start using the great gift of
the Eucharist better, so that we can start following him better. If
we do, do you think he'll let us down?

pide renunciar al hábito pecaminoso o confesar un pecado
que envenena nuestras vidas. Él nos puede pedirle a
algunos de nosotros que demos nuestra vida totalmente a él,
siguiendo una vocación hacia el sacerdocio o la vida
consagrada. Cada uno de nosotros sabe lo que Dios pide de
nosotros. Y cada uno de nosotros siente probablemente un
poco de miedo de decir sí. Jesús quiere que superes ese
miedo. Y él puede ayudarte, a través de la Eucaristía. El
cuerpo y la sangre de Cristo que recibimos en la comunión y
que nos acompaña todos los días aquí en el tabernáculo es
nuestra fuente garantizada de fortaleza sobrenatural y
esperanza. Cuanto más vivimos la Eucaristía, más fuertes nos
volvemos. Todos queremos vivir más cerca a Cristo. Todos
creemos que él es el camino a la verdad, y a una duradera
felicidad. Así que vamos a vivir más cerca de la Eucaristía.
Eso puede significar que viene a recibir la Sagrada comunión
durante la semana una o dos veces, llegando a la adoración,
o incluso a hacer una breve visita cada día y orar en el
tabernáculo. Hoy, en esta gran fiesta del cuerpo y la sangre
de Cristo, vamos a prometer a Jesús que vamos a empezar
utilizando el gran don de la Eucaristía, para que podamos
cuando estamos dispuestos a compartir incluso nuestros
más pequeños dones.

REFLEXION SOBRE LAS ESCRITURAS - Cuerpo y la Sangre de
Cristo - Las Escrituras de hoy nos recuerdan que “Así, siendo
muchos formamos un solo cuerpo, porque el pan es uno y todos
participamos del mismo pan.” ¿Cómo estamos usando nuestros
dones de tiempo y talento para fortalecer el cuerpo de Cristo? (1
Corintios 10:16-17).
Ojala que todos respondamos al llamado de Dios a construir Su reino
en la tierra y nos ayudemos los unos a los otros a llegar al cielo.
Como discípulos de Jesús, se nos llama a llevar vidas sagradas e
invitar a los demás a acompañarnos. Al vivir una vida de servidor, al
ser agradecidos y generosos con nuestros regalos, trabajamos para
dos propósitos. Uno, ayudamos a Dios a construir su reino aquí en la
tierra. Dos, es un mapa para llegar al cielo. ¡Ayudémonos los unos a
los otros para llegar allá!
HOY CELEBRAMOS EL DIA DEL SANTISIMO CUERPO Y LA
SANGRE DE CRISTO (Corpus Christi)- El total de la colecta de hoy
se donará para que los seminaristas puedan continuar con su estudio
y llegar a ordenarse sacerdotes. Cada año, el costo de sus estudios
es de mas de un millón de dólares y el Cardenal DiNardo nos pide
que este domingo, doblemos nuestras donaciones para ayuda de
nuestros seminaristas ya que sin ellos el incomparable regalo de
la Sagrada Eucaristía no existiría. Por favor continúen rezando por
las vocaciones.

Explore is a retreat for young men in High School who want to experience Christ and
grow in relationship with Him. It is an opportunity to set time aside to explore seminary
life and learn about the call to holiness and the priesthood. The retreat will consist of
some great music, games, faith sharing, fellowship, outdoor activities, creative prayer

COLLEGE FORMATION PROGRAM
The Live-in Weekend at Holy Trinity Seminary offers men in their senior year of high school
through age 28 who are discerning a call to diocesan priesthood an opportunity to experience
first-hand life in the seminary. Participants are invited to join the seminary community at prayer,
in classes at the University of Dallas, socials, and other scheduled events throughout the weekend.
The college formation program not only prepares students in philosophy and the liberal arts, but
also brings to maturity their understanding of the faith, assisting them to develop spirituality
