In this very important political year when a
President of the United States will be elected and
there will be a new Supreme Court Justice added
to the Supreme Court, St. Jude Parish offers a
Patriotic Rosary for America and our 50 States on the
1st Saturday of every month at 3:00 pm.
The first Decade of the Rosary is dedicated for the
Presidency of the United States of America; the
second Decade is dedicated for the Supreme
Court of the United States of America; while the
other Decades are for the House of
Representatives and Senate; the Governors; and
the County and Municipal Offices of the United
States.
The Patriotic Rosary combines prayer along with
singing of patriotic songs. Please set a reminder
to join us as we pray our next Rosary for America
at St. Jude Catholic Church on Saturday May 7th at
3:00 pm!

LADIES OF THE PARISH
May 10, June 14, July12, Aug 9, Sept 13
The St. Jude Council of Catholic
Women has made the decision to
make the Second Tuesdays of the
Month our regular evening meeting in
the St. Jude Parish Life Center. Please
mark 7 p.m. on your calendars at least
for the summer months. We don’t
have a complete “line up” for the year, but will begin
with a presentation from some ladies of our parish
that just returned from a pilgrimage to Italy. It will
be great fun to hear about the trip first hand and
hopefully see some pictures as well. We will also let
you know how wonderful the Council of Catholic
Women convention was in Jefferson City in midApril for those of you who were unable to attend.
We do not plan to serve refreshments other than
drinks. Hope to see you there. Any questions, call
Emily at 785-6156.
EASTER FLOWER FUND
Your donations for Memorial Easter Flowers far
exceeded our expectations! Since the flowers had to
be pre-ordered, we were unable to display as many
as were requested. The new plants that now adorn
our altar have been purchased from the remaining
Easter flower fund. We are grateful for the flowers
and plants that honor your loved ones during the
Easter season and in the weeks to come.
PRAYER LIST
Please check the prayer list in the bulletin
and see if your name or the name of
someone you placed on the list is still
being carried. If the original need for the
prayer has passed, please contact Gail at the parish
office - 870-2386 or gcampbell@stjudechattanooga
to have the name removed. Thank you for helping us
keep the prayer list updated.

advertisements and seeking new ones. If interested,
please call the parish office, or you may
contact Ed directly at 614-738-1472 or

service and that the sponsors get good coverage with
their ad. Thanks to you and to Diocesan Publications,
the bulletin is published weekly at no cost to the
parish.
GROUNDS VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

into 25 parcels that can be adopted by volunteers for
mowing. We also have flower beds that can be
adopted. The mowing and gardening can be done

grounds work is to be done on Sundays. We have
just a few mowing parcels and flower beds left for
adoption. If interested please contact Tom Picard in
the Parish Office at [email protected] or
870-2386. The beauty of the St. Jude Parish grounds is
100% from parish volunteers!

CONSEJOS ESPIRITUALES
3 errores que cometen los padres cuando son
intimidados por sus hijos
No te preocupes: También te presentamos
momentos: rendirse, castigar o negociar.1.Rendirse En
intercambio. La negociación por recompensas sustituye la
conquista personal y provocará una pérdida de
autoestima en tus hijos. En vez de que desarrollen
autosuficiencia y autonomía, se quedan inmaduros y
apegados a sus padres por la gratificación. 3 opciones
No te vuelvas reactivo o des
tus pensamientos y recuperar tu equilibrio.
sentimientos. Se calman inmediatamente.Durante la
pausa, pregúntate a ti misma. “¿Qué podría estar
causando el bullying de mi hijo? ¿Está cansado? ¿Tiene
hambre?
subyacente. Considera lo que podría estar irritando
tanto a tu hijo.
dominarla.Deja claro que el bullying nunca
funciona:“No voy a responder mientras estés
gritándome”.“De esa manera no vas a conseguir lo
que quieres”.“Puedes hacerlo mejor que esto. Eres
muy inteligente para hablar sobre las cosas”.
3.Resaltar sus puntos fuertesDespués de
pensar en la 2uertes2 que tomarás, defiende tu
territorio.
trabajo. Eso es madurez”.Al reforzar los puntos
2uertes de tu hijo aumentarás su confianza y
volverás la comunicación más gratificante que la
2uertes2on.
