Katy ISD Two-way Immersion (TWI) Information Sessions
For Incoming Kindergarten Students
The TWI Program, currently offered at Fielder Elementary and Memorial Parkway Elementary,
is a 50/50 instructional model which serves a combination of native Spanish speakers and native
English speakers. The students are taught together during the school day in an effort to develop
bilingualism and biliteracy for both groups of students.
The Office of Other Languages will be conducting TWI informational sessions for parents of
students entering kindergarten in the 2016-17 school year. These sessions will provide parents
with information regarding the application process, requirements for entry into the TWI program,
and the structure of the program. Informational sessions will be provided in English and in
Spanish.

Reuniones informativas sobre el
Programa de Doble Inmersión en Katy ISD
para estudiantes que van a entrar al kínder
El programa de doble inmersión que está actualmente disponible en las escuelas primarias Fielder y
Memorial Parkway es un modelo de instrucción 50/50 que se ofrece en ambos idiomas a estudiantes
cuyas lenguas maternas son español o inglés. Los estudiantes aprenden juntos durante el día escolar
con el fin de desarrollar el bilingüismo y la diversidad cultural.
El departamento de otros idiomas ofrecerá reuniones informativas para la admisión al programa de
doble inmersión para los padres de estudiantes que entrarán a kínder en el año escolar 2016-17. Estas
reuniones proveerán información acerca del proceso de aplicación, los requisitos para la admisión al
programa de doble inmersión y la estructura del programa. Las reuniones informativas se proveerán
en inglés y en español.
