manage your own time.

You are responsible for finding out about deadlines,
graduation and transfer requirements, and for
tracking your own progress.

Plan on spending 2-3 hours outside of class for every
hour you spend in class (e.g. if you take 12 units, you
will be in class about 12 hours per week; add another
24 - 36 hours per week for study outside of class, for a

credit for academic work through the use of
dishonest, deception or fraudulent means
including forgery.
 Giving or attempting to give aid that is not
authorized by the instructor
Duplicate Use of Written Work
 multiple students submitting identical or
substantially similar work
 Submitting identical or substantially similar

permission of the instructors.
Plagiarism
 Taking the words or substance of another and
either copying or paraphrasing the work
without giving credit to the source.
 = Stealing!




You can avoid this through footnotes,
quotation marks, or reference citations.
When you are putting the author’s ideas into
your own words (called paraphrasing) make
sure you are not copying the authors phrases
or sentence structure.
Your rewrite should look totally different
from the original
