Second Graders Excited About
First Holy Communion
Our second graders are anxiously awaiting their First Holy Communion which will
take place next weekend. They have been working, praying, and preparing for many
months in anticipation of this very special day. Recently, the students used model
clay to create their own chalices. The students have learned that the chalice
represents the sacred vessel that Jesus took and shared with his Apostles during the
Last Supper. These chalices, along with other special items they have worked on, will
be placed in their individual “Communion Box”. By the end of the school year, the box
will be filled with special symbols and items that are great reminders of this
Sacrament and its meaning.
