Dear Lawrence Community Members,
Welcome back for the 2015-2016 school year. As a
teacher, the start of the school year always brought
me excitement for the opportunity to meet new

students. But more importantly, the start of the
school year brought endless possibilities of engaging students in learning. We
also look forward to renewing our friendships with our colleagues as we will
all be on the same journey. No one is more important to our society than the
educator. As each of you returns, you will see that the school district will be
moving to make great improvements. The upcoming changes will advance our
excellence. Below are a few important initiatives for the 2015-2016 school
year.
1. Continue to focus on District Goals. The Board of Education and
your Superintendent have added a fourth goal of completing a
district Strategic Plan. More information about the Plan will be
available in August. Click here to see goals.
2. In the winter of 2014, a Blue Ribbon Facilities Plan was completed.
Watch as we grow and renovate facilities district-wide. Over 95
million dollars over the next five years will be put into our schools.
Our buildings will be clean and inviting for our students and faculty.
3. Click here to check out our Marketing and Branding video. We will
not allow others to tell our story. We will promote our
Lawrence Excellence.
4. Changes with our Employee Clinic and Wellness will be coming
soon! More information in August.
The first day of school for the
2015 - 2016 school year is August 5th.

Have you seen our new look?
In June of 2015, the MSD of Lawrence
Township, in collaboration with
Woodridge IMPACT Marketing
launched a new and improved district logo. While the elements remained consistent, the new look is
stronger, bolder, and more easily
reproducible.
The Lawrence Township logo is symbolic. The globe as the center background
is somewhat muted and represents global awareness and preparation that
our students receive. The large LT, of course, makes it clear that “We are Lawrence Township” with the L being larger to bring focus to LAWRENCE. The
three primary district values circle the logo with the township identifier on
the outside of the seal or circle.

Opportunities and Information page on our website
