Your financial help and prayerful support make it possible for us to continue building up the kingdom of God in some of the most difficult areas around the world. We are only able to spread the Gospel message with your prayers and generous support. We want to thank you for your warm welcome on the weekend of July 11/12, 2015. May God continue to bless all of you! Let us remember each other in prayer. With so much technology at our fingertips, it's tough not to get swept away in all the noise and clutter. In our society there's often a tendency to live passively by simply "going with the flow." In this talk given at a FOCUS national conference, Fr. Mike Schmitz explains how we need to live an intentionally Christian life within a technological age. CD’s are available in the Gathering Space for $3.00 each. Fr. Carlos Paniagua SVD and Fr. Bob Kelly SVD Thank you from the Retirement Research Foundation Thank you for the final report on the Accessible Faith grant. The narrative and financial reports are accepted as presented and complete all of the reporting requirements for the grant. Also, thank you for sharing the lovely photos of the completed accessible restrooms. The photos really help bring the project to life for us. With the submission of your report, the grant will now be formally closed. Congratulations on completing the construction of two accessible restrooms! It is impressive that the project was completed ahead of schedule and within budget although there were a few additional expenses such as the addition of emergency lights to comply with village code. I also commend you for successful fundraising. In one of the bulletins, I read that more than 200 families contributed to the project. This is a testament to the parish's recognition of the importance of inclusion. I also enjoyed reading the many positive comments on the new facilities. Thank you again for the report. If you have any questions, or if we may be of assistance in the future, please feel free to contact us. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY SPECIAL FOOD AND SUPPLY DRIVE @ St. Pius X on July 25 & 26 to help those affected by flooding in Kankakee, IL The St. Pius X St. Vincent de Paul Conference is one of 40 Parishes that have conferences in the Diocese of Joliet. We received this request for our Diocesan leaders: Joliet SVdP Council President Joe Butkovich states: “The Red Cross has already distributed over 100 of our SVDP Basic Need Forms for clothing and bedding. The Joliet SVdP Council are taking the necessary steps to fulfill all these referrals. Additionally the local Kankakee food pantries are being overwhelmed with requests for food. Hence the Joliet SVdP Council is working to organize an EMERGENCY FOOD AND SUPPLY COLLECTION.” St. Pius X is blessed to have such a generous parish community as demonstrated by our well stocked SVdP food pantry. Knowing the responsiveness of our Parish, we at the St Pius X SVdP Society advised the Joliet Council that we will run an emergency food/supply drive on July 25th & 26th. The St. Vincent de Paul Society will be accepting donations of canned food, non-perishable food, cleaning products, and paper goods in the Martha Room before and after all the Masses on July 25th and July 26th. At the same time, he met the Christian Brothers and felt at home each time he visited them. Today, Brother Alan serves as Vocations Director for the Christian Brothers.
