FEAST OF ALL SAINTS
NOVEMBER – THE MONTH OF REMEMBRANCE
Into your hands, O Lord we humbly entrust our brothers and sisters. In this life you embraced them with your tender
love; deliver them now from every evil and bid them enter eternal rest. The old order has passed away; welcome
them into paradise, where there will be no sorrow, no weeping nor pain, but the fullness of peace and joy with your
Son and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen.

the Messiah? Come to better understand the Infancy Narratives and the Ministry of Jesus by learning about
the socio-political climate.
Part III: December 3 at 7:30 PM – The Faith of Jesus

Liturgy?
We are blessed to have Professor David Hyman, Visiting Scholar at Seton Hall University,
visit us this Fall to share his insights, knowledge and love of the Holy Land.

PRAYER
FIRST FRIDAY HOLY HOUR
November 6 - 12:45 - 1:45 p.m. in the Church
Can you not watch one hour with me?
Holy Hour is a form of devotion inspired by Christ's
words to the Apostles in Gethsemane: Can you not
watch one hour with me? Following the 12:10 p.m.
Mass, join us for Holy Hour which will include
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, hymns, scripture
readings, recitation of the Rosary and time for silent
prayer and will end with Benediction. Come join in this
peaceful Eucharistic Adoration of Our Lord.
This Monday we will celebrate the Mass of
Remembrance at 7:00 PM in the Church. This is the
yearly Mass where we commemorate all those in our
parish and families who have died this year. If you have
had a death in your family or among your friends, this is
a wonderful liturgy to commemorate them. Please bring
a small photo to share in our All Souls Display in the
Alcove.
If you can help with the Liturgy, in particular as a
Minister of Hospitality, I would really appreciate it. I
would
need
you
there
at
6:30
PM.
We can also use a few people to bake. IF you would like
to bake, please let Maureen Dorney know at
[email protected].
Please let us know if you can lend a hand.

Faith U.: Faith and Land of Jesus –
series to learn more about First Century Life
in the Holy Land.
When you hear the word “Conversion,” what comes
to mind? Catholicism defines “conversion” as a lifelong process of turning one’s attention and energy
toward an ever-deepening relationship with Christ.
Join us as we begin the DVD-based program,
Conversion: Following the Call of Christ, presented by
Bishop Robert Barron. Using six stories from the Bible,
Bishop Barron demonstrates how ordinary, sinful
people like us are met by Jesus and called to a better

DAILY READINGS
ALL SAINTS
First Reading: Revelations 7:2-4, 9-14
John recounts for us the details of his vision. An angel
bearing the seal of the living God demands that the land
and sea not be destroyed; huge crowds stand before the
throne of the Lamb crying out that salvation comes from
God; angels gathered round and praised God; an elder
questions John and explains that those dressed in white Are
the ones who have survived the great period of trial.
Second Reading: 1 John 3:1-3
Once again John speaks to us of love. He points out to us
the great love that the Father has for us by allowing us to
be called children of God. John explains that the world
doesn't recognize us because it never recognized Jesus. Our
future will be revealed to us and in that light we shall see
him as he is.
Gospel: Matthew 5:1-12a
When Jesus saw the crowds of people he went up to the
mountainside gathered his disciples around him and began
to teach them. This lesson in love has come to be known to
us as the great "Sermon on the Mount" or "The
Beatitudes.”

SERVICE
THANKSGIVING OUTREACH
Preparations are underway for our parish community’s
Thanksgiving Outreach. As many of you know, our parish
assembles and distributes baskets of food for the hungry
and the needy here in Madison. Baskets are also sent to St.
Agnes parish in Paterson as well as agencies in both
Paterson and Newark. You can help in several ways.
 Prepare a basket (a sturdy box or laundry basket
makes a great basket) consisting of frozen turkey,
potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, fresh
fruits and vegetables, condiments and desserts –
all of the “fixins” for a Thanksgiving dinner. Please
pledge a basket by taking a tag from one of the
cornucopias around the altar. Each tag represents
a specific family or individual. Detailed instructions
for the preparation of the basket will be printed in
a future bulletin.
 Volunteer on Monday, November 23 to help
assemble, collect and prepare baskets for
distribution.
 Volunteer to deliver baskets – locally – on
Monday, November 23 between 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
We can really use the assistance of the men of the
parish for this. Please bring a flashlight!
 Make a financial donation that will be applied
toward the purchase of food for the baskets.
If you wish to help, please call Barbara Eutsler at 973-8220387, send an email to [email protected] or fill out the
form below and return it to the Parish Office, attn.

Lecturas del domingo XXXI del tiempo
Ordinario
Solemnidad de todos los Santos
Primera Lectura: Apoc. 7, 2-4.9-14
marcados: eran ciento cuarenta y cuatro
mil, procedentes de todas las tribus de
Israel.
Vi luego una muchedumbre tan grande,
que nadie podía contarla. Eran individuos
Enseguida comenzó a
