Baptism
Please register in advance for the parent meeting. Bring
birth certificate. Baptism is on the 1st Sunday of the
month (bi-monthly in English) at 1:30 P.M.
Confessions
30 minutes before scheduled masses

Marriage
Couples must make necessary arrangements with a
priest Six months prior to other arrangements and to
the wedding date.
Religious Education
Registrations are open now for children from 1st to 8th grade.

The King of Reality
When the question of Christ's kingship comes up in this Sunday's
Gospel reading, Jesus redirects us to the true meaning of divine
kingship. Without denying that he is the king, he says: "The reason
I was born into the world is to testify to the truth." He is not the
king of a country or a world; he is the king of truth, the ruler of
reality.
The perception of reality that we develop when Jesus is not our
teacher and interpreter and revealer of truth is warped and blurred
by the falsehoods and misunderstandings and counterfeits that
float around in the kingdom of the world, which is ruled by Satan.
But wait! The very idea that this world is ruled by Satan is a warping of the truth. It's not reality. Remember, Jesus came into the
world to destroy the devil's domain and to bring all of creation into
his kingdom. Those in this world who accept Christ's kingship
listen to his voice and live in that truth.
When we sin, it's because we don't fully understand the reality of
the situation. Jesus is not yet fully the king of that part of our lives.
For example, think of a person who has asked you for something
that you cannot afford to give. Perhaps it's the building project at
church. Or the sick neighbor. Or the co-worker who doesn't have
the level of faith that you have. Or the aging parent who needs
more and more assistance.
Do you feel like you don't have enough to satisfy their needs? Are
you so tired and downtrodden from your own burdens that you
cannot take on someone else's? Well, it's our flesh nature that says
we cannot enjoy doing more for others than we're already doing.
This is a warped view of reality; it looks like we'll be happier if we
cater to our own desires instead of taking care of someone else's
need.
In true reality, a joyful lifestyle develops when we listen to the
voice of Jesus, even when he says, "go the extra mile" or "be like
the Good Samaritan and take a detour to minister to others". We
have to trust the truth that he teaches, regardless of how little we
understand it.
Understanding grows in the doing of God's will more than in the
thinking about it. Joy grows as we gain the understanding that
comes from seeing some of the fruits of what we've done. When
we sin, it's because we cannot envision the good fruits that will
come from doing things the way Christ tells us to. Under his kingship and the Holy Spirit's wisdom, we gain freedom to overcome

El Rey de la Realidad
Cuando el tema del reinado de Cristo surge en la lectura del Evangelio
de este domingo, Jesús nos re-direcciona hacia el verdadero significado del reinado divino. Sin negar que Él es el rey, dice: "La razón por la
que yo nací en este mundo es para testificar la verdad." Él no es el rey
de un país o de un mundo; el es el rey de la verdad, el gobernante de la
realidad.
La percepción de la realidad que desarrollamos, cuando Jesús no es
nuestro maestro, intérprete y revelador de la verdad, es distorsionada y
borrosa por las falsedades, los malos entendidos y las falsificaciones
que flotan alrededor del reinado del mundo, el cual está regido por
Satanás. ¡Pero, espera! La mismísima idea de que este mundo está
regido por Satán es una distorsión de la verdad. No es la realidad.
Recuerda, Jesús vino a este mundo para destruir el dominio del diablo
y para llevar a toda la creación a su reino. Aquellos que en este mundo
aceptan el reinado de Cristo, escuchan su voz y viven en esa verdad.
Cuando pecamos, se debe a que no entendemos, completamente, la
realidad de la situación. Jesús todavía no es plenamente el rey de esa
parte de nuestras vidas.
Por ejemplo, piensa en una persona que te ha pedido algo que tú no
puedes permitirte el lujo de dar. Puede ser el proyecto de edificación
en la iglesia. O el vecino enfermo. O el compañero de trabajo que no
tiene el nivel de fe que tú tienes. O el padre anciano que necesita más
y más cuidados.
¿Sientes como si no contaras con lo suficiente para satisfacer sus necesidades? ¿Estás tan cansado y oprimido por tus propias cargas, que no
puedes tomar las de alguien más? Bueno, es nuestra naturaleza, la cual
nos dice que no podemos disfrutar el dar más por los demás, de lo que
ya estamos dando. Esta es una visión retorcida de la realidad; parece
ser que seremos más felices si satisfacemos nuestras propias necesidades, en vez de velar por las necesidades de alguien más.
En la realidad verdadera, llevamos un estilo de vida alegre, cuando
escuchamos la voz de Jesús, aún cuando dice, "has un esfuerzo adicional" o "sé como el Buen Samaritano y toma un desvío para ayudar a
los demás". Tenemos que confiar en la verdad que Él enseña, sin importar lo poco que la comprendemos.
El entendimiento crece al hacer la voluntad de Dios, más que cuando

Apoyo a los padres para Educación en la Fe
Todos los sabados, tenemos las reuniones para padres,
mientras los niños están en el programa de Educación Religiosa, de 10AM a 11:15AM, en el sótano
de la Iglesia. En estas reuniones se tratarán temas
que puedan ayudarles a educar a sus hijos en la fe y
en la vida. El Sábado 24 se comenzó a hablar del
Matrimonio según está revelado en la Biblia, como base para
todo lo que vendrá despues.
También son bienvenidos todas las personas que deseen
escuchar, aunque sus hijos no estén en el programa.
LECTURAS DE HOY
Primera lectura – Cuando uno, como el Hijo del Hombre se dirigió hacia el anciano y fue llevado a su presencia, recibió el dominio eterno, un
reinado indestructible (Daniel 7:13-14).
Salmo —Señor, tu eres nuestro rey (Salmo 93 [92]).
Segunda lectura – Que la gloria y el poder sean dados a Jesucristo, el
primogénito de entre los muertos y Señor de toda la tierra (Apocalipsis
1:5-8).
Evangelio – Jesús como Rey, vino a ser testigo de la verdad. Quien escucha la verdad, escucha su voz (Juan 18:33b-37).
