Fourth Sunday of easter
Father Morrow Celebrates 60 Years of Priesthood
Please join Father Morrow as he celebrates sixty years of priesthood. He and his
fellow priests will celebrate the noon Mass here at the Cathedral on Sunday, May
31 followed by a reception in Kenny Hall. Everyone is invited to join Father
Morrow in this celebration.
Cathedral parishioners have been blessed for the past eighteen years with Father
Morrow’s presence among us. Although officially “retired”, he has given new
meaning to the word as daily, he carries out his priestly duties. You will find him
at Piedmont Hospital and nursing homes visiting the sick or you will see him
saying Mass and hearing confessions at the Cathedral. So many of us have been
comforted and guided by his wisdom and understanding. One of his favorite
charities is Habitat for Humanity and, during a build, you can find him in the
parking deck at 7am, praying with the workers before heading to the house build.

Your parish needs you! Christ the King needs facilitators for RCIA, Bible studies,

great opportunity to learn how to facilitate groups and help others.
There’s no cost for this workshop but please RSVP so that we will have enough

Stewardship of Treasure
How shall I repay the Lord for his goodness to me?” Psalm 116
In today’s Gospel, Jesus describes Himself as the “Good Shepherd.” Unlike the hired hand in
the story, He will never abandon us, His flock. This is evidenced in the Eucharist where we,
as Christian stewards, believe in His true presence. By partaking of His Body and Blood, we
receive His constant protection through grace against evil and strength to carry out His will to
build up the Church—the kingdom of God on earth.

Seniors, Don’t Get Scammed!
Recognizing, Preventing, and Responding to Scams Against Seniors will be
presented on Thursday, May 14 from 4:30 to 5:30pm in the 2/3 Kenny Hall. The
presentation is by Paul Black of Brannon + Black, LLC
“This presentation uses four hypotheticals to highlight the legal and ethical
considerations in protecting the financial decision-making powers of and assets of
older or vulnerable individuals. Seniors age 60 and older are approximately 15
percent of the population in the United States, yet represent about 30 percent of
the number of fraud victims.”

Ministry and Sunrise at Buckhead. Contact Jan Riser in Pastoral Care at 404-2373674 for questions.
When ‘Cheer up’ Doesn't Work
You’ve heard it time and time again: “Cheer up … Get over it . . . It’s not that
bad.” Maybe people have said it to you. Or perhaps you keep saying it to yourself.
But it hasn’t helped. You’re still hurting. Things are coming apart. Here’s the good
news: You don’t have to go through your struggle alone. Help is available. Our
Stephen Ministers are trained caregivers who will walk with you, listen to you,
and provide confidential, one-to-one care as you sift through the pieces and find
what is truly in your heart. Contact Linda Dyson at 404-233-2675 to learn more.

Queridas familias,

WELCOME FROM THE PASTOR AND
CATHEDRAL STAFF
Dear Friends in Christ,
On behalf of Archbishop Wilton Gregory, the Clergy and
staff, I welcome you to the Cathedral of Christ the King. I
hope and pray that you feel welcomed by our parish
community and that your spiritual and pastoral needs will
be met.
We are a very active parish with 5,500 families and over one
hundred ministries. We encourage our members to share
their gifts of time, talent and treasure.
Our mission statement is to “Know, Love and Serve as Jesus
Did”. This is the mission of each disciple of Christ and, if
you are new, I hope and pray that you will join us and be
part of the community of Christ the King. If you are passing
through or visiting the city of Atlanta, I hope you enjoy your
worship experience and please visit us again.
If you would like to know more about our parish, you can
visit our website at www.cathedralofchristtheking.org or
email us.
May we, this day and all the days of our lives, know, love
and serve as Jesus did.
Prayers and Blessings,
Msgr. Frank McNamee, Rector
