October 19, 2014 THE TWENTY – NINTH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME THE PASTOR COLUMN LA COLUMNA DEL PARROCO ~ October 19, 2014~ ~19 de Octubre de 2014~ My Dear Parishioners, Queridos Parroquianos, This past weekend was very busy and very prayerful. We had a number of parishioners attend the Diocesan pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Washington DC with Bishop Sullivan in honor of Our Lady Undoer of Knots. Many parishioners attended the Diocesan Charismatic Conference in Wildwood where Bishop Sullivan addressed all the attendees on Friday evening. The America Needs Fatima outdoor Rosary was prayed at two of our parish sites, Saint Mary’s and Saint Barbara Chapel. Our parish truly answered the call of Our Lady of Fatima to pray, pray, pray. October 13 was the 97 th anniversary of the last apparition of Fatima where Our Lady asked us to pray the rosary for peace. The rosary is the weapon for our times and the means to obtain peace in hearts, in families, and in the world. We are in need of peace now more than ever. October is the month dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary. I invite all my parishioners to pray the rosary each day and to consider praying the rosary as a family. In this way, we will honor Our Blessed Mother’s request to pray the rosary daily, a request still relevant and needed today. The rosary will undo all the knots that disturb the peace in our hearts. It is a simple and true teaching that the family that prays together stays together. May our parish families remain united in prayer and in love. Many blessings to you and your family, Father Ariel Octubre es el mes dedicado a nuestra señora del Rosario. Muchas Bendiciones!
